Katie's Weight Loss Journey

Hi guys! i joined this site a while back, but, haven't been an avid poster. i've struggled with weight since i was about 10 years old. Doing every diet from weight watchers, atkins, south beach, jenny craig, etc. i went to a weight loss camp (camp shane) the summer after my freshmen year of college and lost about 30 pounds. i was able to keep it off and even loose more when i returned home, but, i was put on high doses of prednisone in January of 2004 and gained about 60 pounds in less than 6 months. in July of 2004 i was able to go off of the prednisone, but this weight has proved realy hard to loose, and i tend to loose motivation really easily.

at my heightest weight i was about 230, i'm 5'2. my lowest has been about 150. But, my brother's wedding is coming up in may, and i REALLY want to get in shape for that.

i've joined jenny craig and have started a work out routine. i have been diagnosed with muscular dystrophy, so, i'm unable to just go to the gym and work out really harcore because my muscles don't regenertate like a normal person's. but, i've been biking for 45 minutes every other day. then on my non-cardio days do a 60 minute balance ball dvd as well as the weight machines at the gym.

i just wanted to do this journal so i can keep track of my progress, to get some tips, and tyr to help others too. because we're definately fighting a hard battle here! i plan to post throughout the week, and then after my weigh in monday morning's at jenny, and i'll try to keep up with pictures every 10 pounds or so.
