At 200lb+ I finally got to that uncomfortable place.
You know the one - tight clothes, elderly friends walking quicker than me (whilst pushing their trollies)!! and the worst of all is not being able to keep up with my kids!!
It stops here though!!
I have recognised that I am an ace comfort eater. Addressing it is hard but knowing what the triggers are and how to change them means that I'm half way there.
Like many who put on weight, I dislike my photo being taken. So I had my daughter take a full length photo of me from the front (eek), from the side (eek eek) and god help me from the back (**!?**). I was so shocked that I wanted to rip the prints up and dive into the fridge!! I didn't.......... I made copies and put them on the fridge instead, and by my bed, and in my purse (for when I go shopping). It has been going ok.
What I didn't recognise before was that food can also become a habit! Clearing the childrens supper plates away, I reached for the muffin that my daughter didn't eat. It was just automatic. The answer I have found is to let the children clear their own plates away!! I'm all for child labour!! lol (I wonder if they will hoover as well)??
Boredom is another! The fridge isn't very far away when your family has gone to bed and there is noone to talk to! So last night I knitted a scarf! I am such a party girl!!
Perhaps I should start a new hobby?? suggestions always welcome..
