Just Starting....

It scares me that I have 112 lbs to lose, but after looking through so many success stories, I really have hope, and a lot of inspiration. I know that this will be A LOT of hardwork, and I just need support in doing this. I'm really not ready to post any pictures of myself, but I will say I weight 252 lbs, and would like to get down to 140 lbs. I want to do it in increments though, so maybe I will not get discouraged. So as of right now, my first goal is to get down to 220 lbs.

Welcome Tiffany!

I'm at 256lbs currently and am working on getting down to 150lbs myself. It does seem like a lot...well it is actually but we just have to remind ourself to set small goals to start. Once we start reaching those small goals the rest will seem all the more possible.

And I definately encourage you to check the success stories frequently, maybe find a blog to follow, etc. to give you the encouragment, motivation, and hope to keep on going.

The people here are wonderful and I'm sure it won't take time for you to discover that yourself. Don't be afraid to ask questions either!

For much of my life I said I wanted to lose weight....and my family always said "you can lose weight but don't expect to be skinny".....after seeing some of the stories on here....I cant wait to prove them and my many years of thinking wrong!!!

Do you have any kind of plan set up for yourself as far as exercise and nutrition?

Thanks for the reply! I am considering a lot of things right now, but I know for sure I don't want to go on a fad diet, I would rather change my entire lifestyle. I went on a lo-carb diet before, and lost 50 lbs, but I gained it back twice as quick. I know I want to start exercising a lot more, and really just overall changing my lifestyle!!! Good luck to you!!! Do you have a plan? Def. am up for hearing ideas.

Hey welcome aboard! When you look at a total it can be a bit daunting, but break it down into steps and it's not so bad. The trick is to change your lifestyle and not be in a hurry to lose the weight. I've found the biggest thing that's helped me is the exercise. It means I can eat a little more and it's helped toned me up. As far as food is concerned I just cut out all the junk, chose fresh stuff over processed and generally just ate a bit less than I usually would. Nothing brutally restrictive, just changes in food choice really.

Best wishes, you sound very motivated!!
