Hey Bobby,

Losing as much weight as you want is totally possible. It is all a matter of how much you want to lose the weight. Let me tell you one thing that I have learned after a good long life of staying in shape (and the falling out of shape a bit):

Weight is lost by eating right. That means eating in a calorie deficit mode so that your body can burn stored fat reserves.

It is that simple. Exercise is auxiliary to this. Cardio is great because it burns calories now. Strength training is good because it increases your lean body mass thus increasing your metabolism rate.

But you cannot eat anything you want with no respect to how your body burns those calories.

I'm deff not eating what i want, it sucks but needs to be done. and i do lift weights after the 30 min workout i lift 20lb dumbells a set of 20 is what im aiming for so far i can only do about 12-14 of them before i feel like passing out lol. Im assuming that it will only get easier as i get stronger :)

Time to get bench press/punching bag. (I'm aiming to have HUGEE muscles) :sifone:

I weighed my self this morning and the scale is telling me i weight 279 :) can i relli have lost abot 6 lbs already with this workout im doing

276 lbs as of today, working out is getting much easier, I purchased a mountain bike so now i added that to my workout, I'm not looking to be super skinny I want to lift weights, Im looking at benchpresses, I need an olympic bench/weight any one know any good brands.

Just some advice ... right now you're seeing results because you're making a change and that's great.

But .. some of what you're saying you're doing is not necessarily the right way to do things and after a while you're going to not see any more progress.

Two things struck me: one is that you don't really talk about what you're eating. Reducing calories is good, but you need to make sure you're eating healthy foods. If all you do is eat less junk, eventually your body won't be able to support the amount of exercise you do. And you certainly can't build muscles and a fit body on junk food.

Next is that you made a comment that you want to get to 20 reps of an exercise. That's a bad idea. When you're exercising, if you want to build muscle, you need to be thinking in terms of 3-4 sets of 8-12 reps each. By the end of the 3rd set, you need to be struggling to complete them and keep good form. That way you know you're stressing your muscles.

If your'e able to do 20 reps, then you're not lifting heavy enough to provide the progressive overload that you need to make progress.

I dont eat junk food EVER even when i was not doing my diet. I like REAL food rice and beans mmmm yummy, and bread and french onion soup. i swithced over from rice to steamed veggies with ever meal, I'm not going to give up my yummy RARE steaks, i dont eat chips, cookies or any thing like that. I drink some beer, but gave up sodas, i know beer is horrible for a diet but ima college kid....

I go hiking now (wow what a workout) bike riding, walk my dogs as much as i can in a day (6-10) times a day powerwalking most of the way. I have energy out the ass now nothing stops me.

Got my bench press, i love that thing. Preacher curl and everything. My neck is shrinking. As i progress i make my workouts a lot harder and push my self till i cant go any more.

When i started i couldnt even do 5 mins! now i do 40 on the elliptical. Usually after 40 mins on an elliptical i go to my 100 lb puching bag. And let me tell you i know the crap outta that thing. But ive always been a good fighter
(From NYC)

But thanks for the input, i got a lot to learn. :driving: :auto: :sifone:

I gota say hiking up a mountain cant compare to any work out out there. Shit is hardddddddddddddddddddd to do i wanted to pass out right there n go to bed lol
