If I ask you a fitness question in the nude, would that count? :D

I can actually get your journal back on track with a fitness question, Steve ;)

So are you telling me we should post nude pics in your thread when we ask a question relating to a specific part of our anatomy? How naughty should these pics be?

That's soooooo totally do-able :D

This would not work here. We have children on this forum. Which I think is really stupid.

However, my forum welcomes nudes.

You know...

For the sake of learning anatomy.

Yea, I think the min age to sign up to this place is 13 or some crap. Always bothered me b/c I don't like giving out nutritional advice to children. They should NOT be dieting like adults.

In another light though, if it helps them avoid yo-yo dieting which they're most likely more prone to, I suppose it's a good thing.

Everybody needs to learn anatomy, and a picture says 1000 words :)

As for the children, I hope I haven't completely destroyed them with my posts. Every post I write should come with a warning ... :(

Here's a fitness question for you, Steve.

Remember how we were talking about periodization late last year? Is it dependent on what a person is doing in their workouts? What I mean is, would periodization be different for a strength athlete in their workouts as opposed to an endurance athlete, and, if so, how would it be structured?

If that makes no sense, just tell me I'm an idiot and to read some books :D

You're not an idiot and should read more and more and more books.

But your question is really tricky to answer.

In the birds eye view, periodization affects both athletes the same in that your manipulating fatigue, intensity and volume over time so that come time for competition, most/all fatigue is gone and ability is at it's highest.

If that makes sense.

The tools that get the job are different is all.

The best intro book to it is most likely Practical Programming by Mark Rippetoe. It's a lot of bang for your buck.

It goes into Seyle's research on stress and systemic fatigue of the system and then he applies it to the sport of lifting heavy shit.

I'd simply consider it an intro to periodization though. Seeing how it's applied to one thing will help you understand it better globally I believe.

Awesome!!! Thanks Steve :)

I don't know how you know all this stuff. It's like your brain is a filing cabinet, and I ask a question, you go into the file "P" for "Periodization", and pull out what I need to get me going.

I've already read that book, though ... apparently my comprehension was ZERO or I lapsed into a coma in that chapter :D

I'll go back and take a better look at that later tonight ;)

Hope you have a nice evening, Steve!

Everyday is Potential Perv or Actual Perv Day for us, HELLLLLOOO!!!! :smash:
