Journey, Not A Destination

Oh nothing, Kim and I somehow got into a conversation which led to me cursing their voluptuousness because they sometimes rub together when I run in certain shorts and I pasted pics of them at different weights to get my point across.

Puleeze! Those are far from being thunderous thighs Val! I think any woman with some shape is going to have thighs that rub. It's the beauty of the female body!

Yeah it IS cool, I feel better than I have in MONTHS and my sleep is way better....and I feel you, since I've been dry I have been a homebody. But then, I have my nice house and WLF :D Still, a beer would taste GREAT.........

So why the 100% dryness?

He was meeting me there every day after work, until he got tennis elbow about two months ago, he took some time off for therapy on it, and now that it's back to normal, he's going to start back again. BUT... with his already packed schedule I doubt it will be every day like it was before, but I'll take what I can get and be happy with that. :) WOW your only 26? you have the mind of a 36 year old. That's a compliment of course. I hear in Mal's diary that you smell pretty damn good too. LOL LOL

I get the "you've got an old soul" quite a bit actually.

Every once in a while I prefer to act like I'm 12.

Probably tonight, lol.

Thanks! :)

And there is NOTHING wrong with that on occasion either, you should see and hear some of the shit the H and I do when people are not around, it's hysterical. Just act like kids sometimes that's all, and we have funny pet names for each other, more like childish names, but it's just between us, so who cares anyways. LOL LOL Have fun, I got to run, I have some huge cases I'm working on right now and I must be focused. LATER GATOR!

that's part of your charm actually... :D

you have an older brother? no wait you're really young - single father? :D I could be your momma :D boy would that ever be wrong :)

elsewhere on the web - there was a discussion about what a person's "requirements" were in a mate... and my top three were be smarter than me, make me laugh and act like a 12 year old on occassion... because god knows I act like a 12 year old boy all too often :)

No and no, sorry. :)

Those are good qualities. Much the same of what I looked for. Granted, I act like a 12 yo a lot more than Krista..... but what's life if you aren't having fun?

So why the 100% dryness?

--Summer binges caught up with me and interfered with the quality of my life.
--I love beer and wine so much, it's easier for me to not have ANY than it is to have ONE beer or ONE glass of wine.
--I'm dieting, and I'd rather "spend" 150 calories on foodstuff than alcohol.
--I periodically go dry for spans of a few weeks every year for various reasons
--As a hedonistic person, it's a challenge and I enjoy challenges, and it makes me feel good about myself to accomplish something that's difficult.
--I like variety in my life, and not drinking is definitely different.
--Sometimes I like to suffer, especially if it's in a way that's good for me at the time.

It's not how I would set up the programming. But it's certainly fine. And there is no right or wrong, just being honest. And if you like it, that's what counts.

I'd rather see some heavier stuff worked into that someplace, think reps of 4-6.

How would you set up the programming Steve? I could try working in some even heavier weights, though not the DB chest press or flys because it scares me to try to lift more than 35 lb dbs in case I can't get them up or down when I finish (I could definitely do it with a spot but its that worry about starting and finishing). I'll have to look out for that trainer that approached me about training me for free a few times, he could spot me but I always feel like I have to laugh with a trainer (and of course you're a total weakling when you have to laugh ).

Oh I like all kinds of pleasure.

Who doesn't?

This said, it just started down pouring rain, not sure if I want to drive the hour for this gathering. We'll see what becomes of the night.

I'm just tired at the moment.....

No Alcohol?!

Man - that would be a tough one for me. I love my spiced rum and diet coke and what's worse is that it tends to help me sleep. I'm otherwise an insomniac and it just helps to relax me a little.

So - for me, it seems like it's better to do it than not to do it! :)

I've heard nasty rumors about "calorie shifting" that would allow you to drink and still lose weight. I guess it's like what you do when you exercise, except with eating.

Like, when I exercise, I know that if I stick with the same routine too long, my body doesn't seem to respond as well to it. I had a personal trainer for a week (I won a drawing at my gym-yeah, right!) and he said I should completely change my routine every 10 to 14 days so that I am shocking my body by doing something completely different. I have been doing that and it works like a charm. I am getting in shape faster then I ever thought I would. I don't have a lot of fat to lose, I'd say about 10 lbs, (then my hard earned muscles would be more defined!), and I wonder if this LINK REMOVED idea really works... Any thoughts? I'd love to find out...

Gina

Has anyone ever tried it?

go home from work early and take a nap...

drive carefully - keep both eyes on the road and aboth hands on the wheel and you'll have a good time..an d the time spent with your pals will revive you... Or just have a lovely romantic rainy night in with your lovely wife :)

and if you even think about drinking and driving (though you are smarter than that) I wil hunt you downand beat the crap out of you... I say that will a great deal of affection :D

I wouldn't sweat it really. If anything, ride this out until your strength plateaus. Then downshift the rep ranges on each of the days a bit and add another set or two in the compound lifts.

Heavy triggers muscle maintenance better than anything.

Also, you could add in a complex of calisthenics after each resistance training session. Something like:

Body weight squats x 15
Body weight lunges x 15
Body weight jump squats x 15

You would do no rest between each and go through that circuit twice. Depending on your conditioning.... it should be tough.

We'll see how the night turns out.

And no, I don't drink and drive. I've learned my lesson, although I never really did anyways.

Your trainer was a moron. You don't 'shock' the muscles into changing your body.

And I don't know anything about this calorie shifting nonsense but I see you make money off that link.
