Journey, Not A Destination

What do you do for a living?

I'm in the clinical research field and been doing it for about 5 years now and counting. Worked for some big medical device companies and small ones too. I'm currently a Clinical Project Manager and haven't done any travel for about 2 years now, which is good for me because it was just too much to handle. Going somewhere every month was taxing. For one of the smaller companies I worked with, I was in Europe for a lot of the summer, training doctors on our studies and getting some training from some cardiologists. the coolest thing about this job is being able to go see implants and be in the OR when a device is implanted...very cool.

Wow, I am impressed. Very cool stuff.

Smarty pants, huh. :p

haha, not really a smarty pants, just a willingness to learn and ask. Plus I love learning about what the body can do and how technology has advanced so much with helping people with diseases live better lives. Gawd, I sound like a commercial...

No, I think that is very cool. Sometimes I wish I would have done something with medicine.

She does not weight train, go figure.

I don't force her to do anything that she doesn't want to do. She is a swim coach, and active with that, so she is in shape. She mentioned a few weeks ago that she might want to give strength training a try. I told her she knows she has a coach if she wants one. :)

She is 5'7.

Oh I had to search for the answer to my question from last night--here it is! That's really funny--I would absolutely be elated if my BF broke down and weight trained with me. His body is VERY nice for him being so light (151 lbs) and it could definitely get male-model-ish, not like I want that, I like him the way he is....nonetheless it would be really fun to weight train with him! *wistful* That's cool your GF is a swim coach--that sounds like a really fun job (or side job, I don't know if it's her only profession). It must be super-comforting to have her on the beach with you! ;)

Actually I don't have any background in medicine. I was in pharmacy school for about 2 years and decided that being in the back of a counter was not my thing. A lot of people in this field are nurses, but some, like me, have a scientific background. I actually know someone that has a history background too in this field and one of my gf has a kinesiology degree and is in the same field! Me, myself, left college with a BS in Chemistry, was a chemist for about 6 months, and kinda tripped over and fell into this clinical thing. I could go on and on about this because I find it interesting, but well I'm not :p

Hee hee!!

Not to brag but my butt is fucking spectacular-looking lately! I'm really happy with the results of the dead-lifts. Well, I can't account all that to the DLs because I know running uphill, losing fat, and massive amounts os squats and such contribute, but I know they help! :D

Of course that is just my opinion. Perhaps I can find a tasteful and non-provocative way to show the forum the results of my hard work on the gluteals....

It's a deal. Let me know when you want to leave.

I am serious too, I could very well end up there. I could very well end up in some "hole in the wall" bar in South America too, so I guess my seriousness really isn't saying much. :p

Ahhh..yes, the escape plan....for me, it's Belize...yeah. Hubby and I actually looked into it...yep, folks there is a forum. I did a lot of research and it's not out of the realm of possibility for us. I think I'd really like to be able to take up residence for periods of time in different places...both of us want to go to Italy and I'd like to stay for a bit there...hubby's brother lives in Germany, so Europe is on our list of places to go.

Gotcha. I still sometimes wish I did something with medicine. I think it is a very rewarding profession. I will do something big with training eventually and that will be plent rewarding. Plus, it is where my heart lies.

This statement is worthless without pics. :D
