Journey, Not A Destination

Haha, I'm a financial adviser too, ya know!

We're all capitalists. :p

In truth, I only feel confident accepting money from someone when I'm selling the intellectual property I have regarding health and fitness. It's the only thing I stand by of my own intellect. Beyond that, even finance, I don't like making money on the stuff.

So I might as well go back to making a living off it. I mean I could tomorrow, but not to the extent of a living I'm making today with finance. It's a tough trade off. But I'm in the process of following my heart.

I read some motivating stuff yesterday. I won't say names b/c some of you might know him. But this guy who's younger than me got into the whole 'circle jerk' of gurus and started a radio broadcast where he'd interview some of these guys. For the most part it was about dispersing information about products but the kid behind the show was in it b/c he loved fitness. I always felt that he'd make it far in the fitness industry simply b/c of all the 'guru' contacts he has made over the years.

He's about done college now and decided to throw all that away, even though he loves it to death, simply b/c he loves video games even more. He even went to school for health. But he loves video games so much and he listened to his heart and landed some pretty crazy job working for a video game review company owned by MTV.

Awesome stuff! I love hearing about people following their hearts!

way cool...

and he's got a fallback position too...

Is this the kid who had a podcast that I can't remember the name of the show... -- i think he was a canadian... worked for best buy while he was going to school? or someone else...

Here's a few recent pictures of my little cousin. He's one of my favorite things in this world. I love hanging out with him so much and he loves me to death. It's great to have something so pure in your life like him.

He's brought our family so much closer too. It was a rough patch b/c his mother was with a black man and my grandfather was pretty racist, unfortunately. He used to say things under his breath when my family would throw big bashes when I was in high school and I'd invite my friends over, some of whom are black. They wrote it off as the 'crazy old racist guy.' They'd make fun of him... what else can you do.

But when his own grand daughter had a baby with a black man... I thought he'd die. Amazingly enough, I don't think he'd ever utter another racist word or phrase again. He loves his great grand child and he loves his soon to be grandson-in-law (is that how you say it?) to absolute death. It's pretty amazing how eye opening of an experience it has been for him.

Kevin Larrabee (I think that's how you spell his last name)

He created and ran the fitcast.

It's something I never really got into listening to but he had some big name guests on there and definitely had more than a foot in the door of this industry.

What a smile and eyes on that little kid... what a sweetheart!!

and you're still a kid and a kid at heart soit's you're a good playmate for him - what's not to love about you :D

that's exactly who I was thinking.. .his podcast wasn't bad -but his speaking style was way too canadian snowboarder stonerish and could be a little irritating at times... though some of the interviews and conversations weren't bad -and he had a female on the show occassionally to - so it was nice to balance out the testesterone... I haven't listened in a long while though..

It is amazing what the smiling face of a small child can do to a person :)

Got me? :p

He visited with me last weekend and I took him up to the field behind my house to hit golf balls. This kid is going to be a crazy good athlete... let me tell you. Then I brought him back and I let him drive my RC car. This thing isn't even safe for me to drive, lol... it goes 70 mph. He broke it within 10 seconds. I handed him the controller and was going to help him drive it SLOWLY but before I could think he was pressing the throttle full and it flew right into a tree snapping one of the tires right off, lol.

All he could say is, "uh oh. broke. C-C, you fix it."

He's been calling me C-C since he could talk.

To show what a kid I am, haha, whenever he gets in trouble at home or in school he blames it on 'C-C.'

He'll do something bad and his mother will scold him. Sure enough he blames me. Recently he pushed a kid in pre-school. In his mind he was playing around. But not in the other kid's mind, lol. When the teacher asked him why he did it he said, "I wrestle like C-C."

I communicated with his on a number of occassions and though young, he is a good kid with a great head on his shoulders. I'm sure he'll be successful with whatever he wants to do.

Ooops - you're the bad influence uncle :)

it's a dirty job but soomeone's gotta do it...

next up - teaching the kid how to drink :) his momma is never gonna do it :D and cussing too :D

That's the newest thing.

Just this week he blamed it on me for teaching him to say "what the heck."

I don't remember that, but maybe. I say it often.

I don't consider that cursing though.

A person who shall remain nameless.. is responsible for teaching a very cherubic little girl - GODDAMMIT... it was unintentional... only when she walked into the kitchen - put her little hands onher hips and got a serious lookon her face.. and said GODDAMMIT.. and every adult absolutely cracked up.. She knew she had something.. and says it often..

Must watch what one says around little kids :)

Or invest in a pair of earmuffs, lol.

That's the tough part... as soon as they catch on that it's funny (when it really shouldn't be) it reinforces the idea of doing/saying it 10 fold.

Bloody hell, Steve! Your diary moves faster than Sheryl's bowels!! It took me facking forever to catch up.

Glad you had a blast at the Flyers game. If Detroit takes care of Dallas, and Philly takes care of the Penguins, our teams might end up playing each other in the final. Oh, the smack talk that will ensue....:biggrinjester:

Your cuz is adorable. :)

I got my 400lb mother to my gym today!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :svengo: She appears ready to do something about her weight. Knock me over with a feather. I thought I'd never see this day. Now I just hope she sticks with it. :)

This journal oozes coolness. :p

Flyers are HOOOTTTTTT!!!!!!!

I really want to find me some more tickets. They're getting expensive though!

That's excellent news! I didn't realize your mother was obese... what did you have her do? Is she really 400 lbs?
