Journal recommendations?

I once had a trainer who told me that keeping a journal was beneficial to keeping up an active exercise routine. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for any online sources for keeping a training/food journal? I love to see graphs and such of my progress so any with those kind of features would be awesome. I'm currently google searching for websites, but i thought I would try and get some opinions from people who might already be using something.

I think the thing I want to focus on the most is keeping a food journal and calorie count.

thanks

i use a notebook. the paper kind. i find it works really well bc you don't always have access to a computer, while you can carry the book around...and its always there...i get bored at work a lot and love snacking, and we have tons of junk food here. so the little black book sitting on my desk kinda helps keep me in line haha. i write down everything that i eat/drink and then circle in red the stuff that was excessive/too fatty/unnecessary...this helps identify patterns of bad eating that you may have thought harmless/not noticed before.

Fitday is a pretty popular online one. It's also free. Others include The Daily Plate, uhh, I forget most of the rest. Fitday should more than suffice.

Hey man listen im telling you right now journals are the way too go ive kept a journal of all my workouts for the past 3 months. It not only helps you track your progress but motivates you when you see how far you've come, so yes your trainer is right.
I keep in my journal the date of the workout and the weight (excluding bodily strength exercises) the repetitions and the name of the work out. I can say im proud of myself and i think this is a wonderful way of keeping track of progress. I dont write down what i eat i just try too make good decisions all the time. But i would definetely try the workout journal upp to you tho.

Good Luck,
Ron
