Alrighty- so I'm starting my diary tonight, and hopefully it will last! I've noticed in the past that I I'm always gung-ho with starting diets, and then a week later, I'll drive past Taco Bell, and say, hey, Chalupas sound yummy! And then the next day, I say, well, McDonalds won't hurt to bad. And then, at that point, I don't care really. I just say, whatever, I'm 'sposed to be fat, I guess... I've decided this is crap! I'm NOT suppose to be fat, I'm suppose to be healthy, and gorgeous, and all around happy. So now I begin, again, and everyone here is soooo supportive, and I know its possible this time.
First- I will answer the questions:
*I want to lose at least 100 lbs., maybe more later, but I'll decide that when I get there :)
*My time frame is 8 months- by August of 2006 I would like to be at least 100 lbs lighter.
*I plan to accomplish my goal by working out at least five nights a week, and starting with a 1200 calorie diet. I'll do the 1200 until I'm used to portions, and then I think I'm going to quit counting, and stay with the healthy eating.
*I have a friend who is joining me in my "quest for skinny" :rolleyes: and I think that it'll be a good support system :)
*My goal is very realistic- 100lbs by August equals out to be about 3.5 lbs per week, and I feel that it CAN BE DONE :D !!
*I actually started yesterday, starting weight 275.


As I said, I started the 1200 calorie diet yesterday, and I don't think I like it, lol... I don't mind, I made sure to eat a couple small snacks that kept me feeling full, but it was hard to keep track just cuz I have three jobs, and I kept thinking, ya know, if I hadn't gotten so fat, I wouldn't have to keep count!! So, then I started resenting counting, lol...:eek:
Anyways, I look forward to talking to everyone, and hey, how do I do a ticker?? :eek:
 
Ok- so here's my food for Friday and Saturday:
Friday:
B: Low sugar maple and brown sugar oatmeal with 1 cup milk- 240
S: Oreo thins- 100
L: McD's classic grilled chicken sandwich no mayo, but with dijon mustard
(0 calories :) ) 370
S: Chips Deluxe snack- 100
D: I think it was a Weight Watchers frozen meal- 290
and a Spicy V-8- 35
Water: 64 oz. And I felt like I was drowning! :rolleyes:

I worked at 24 Hour Fitness from 11pm to 7am, so I walked on the treadmill for 10 minutes, and did the eliptical at a reasonable speed(so that my uniform didn't get sweaty, lol) for 15 minutes.

Saturday:
B: L.S. oatmeal- 120
S: 5 Tomato Basil Wheat Thins(yummmy)- 50
Chips Deluxe snacks- 100
L: McD's classic grilled chicken no mayo- 370 with nonfat mayo- 10
S: Oreo Thins- 100
D: 14 Wheat thins- 140
2 wedges Laughing Cow Lite cheese- 70
Non fat yogurt, Apple Turnover- 100
Water: 64 oz. and still peeing like a race horse!!
Didn't work out though, even though I was at 24 Hour... Lazy...

So- people who have done the 1200 cal diet- have you noticed pounds off right away? Cuz I did, and I dunno, maybe thats bad? lol.. I was at first thinking, no way can I count calories, this is gonna bite! But, I dunno, seeing the scale move was pretty good inspiration to keep going :)
 
I think you're on a good start. Although I'm a little hesitant of you saying lose 3.5lbs per week. Because unfortunately we all usually hit a plateau point, so you might have a few weeks where the scale doesn't move AS much.

But its whats moving now is great! Whether its just water or not, is also good. Keep up the wonderful work!!
 
Yeah- I know 3.5 sounds a bit much, and I do expect a plateu, but I'm gonna try :)
I would at least like to have of that goal taken care of... So I guess I'm gonna work hard lol.
Oh- thanks for the message to, I was feeling lonely :( hehe
 
Today I got off work at 7am from the gym, and went to breakfast with my friend Dominica at 4Bs
*4 pcs bacon
*2 pcs sourdough toast
*2 eggs
*Hashbrowns
slept till 4pm, went to work at Breakers, had "lunch"
*Healthy choice chicken n rice soup 180 cals
and then I forgot to pack a snack and M&Ms were screaming at me :eek:
*M&Ms 240cals
and then at 11:30 pm had supper at Perkins with Katie
*Salad with blue cheese
*Chicken sandwich w/ 2 pcs bacon and some honey mustard.
As far as water goes, today I only had 30 oz.... considerably less than the past few days! No workout either, because I have worked 14 hours today, a bit tired..excuses excuses :rolleyes:
 
Jess, keep at the great work! :) And don't feel lonely, we're all here, just hard to catch up to the newbies right away. Or so I find..and I am still one of them. lol!
 
Ok, so its 3pm, I just went to lunch with some friends at the best mexican place in town- had a good grilled chicken fajita salad with peppers and onions, and then had a giant piece of mud pie... thats probably about 600 calories right there :( Gotta work at GNC from 5:30 to 10:30 (stupid mall Christmas hours) and then I'll go to the gym from there. Its kinda weird, I've actually been looking forward to going to the gym..hmm..
 
2:30 am, just got home from the gym, I'm beat!! I have decided that maybe cardio (elipticals) isn't so bad as long as theres good tv on... I watched WifeSwap..lol, that show makes me laugh... and part of Conan(the hottest skinnyass redhead ever :) ) so I went for over an hour, did almost 3.5 miles at a pretty good pace, and the machine said I burned about 800 cals. but I've read articles that say not to rely on that..soo..... and then did some weights and crunches. Now I'm sleepy :)
 
Gosh, Jess, your gym is open at 2:30 a.m.???? In rereading your posts, I found that you work at 24 Hour Fitness. We don't have any of those around here, so I was stunned it even existed.

Glad you feel better!

I burn more calories on the eliptical than anything else I've tried, so I work that in alot, but never for a whole hour at a time (my right arm and foot/toes go numb.... haven't figured that one out yet).

Anyway, remember your fruits/veggies everyday (filling, fiber, nutrients).

Wow Jess, great work! I'm going to def. have to hit the eliptical at the gym tonight!! We have a 30 minute limit on each machine, but I imagine if its dead at the gym I can use it as long as I want. So 2:30am? I imagine your gym is open 24hrs? There are a few in our state that do that, of course none close to me! That's ok I want to be asleep at 2:30!!

Keep truckin along, you're doing so great! I'm envious!
 
Hey everyone- yeah, open at 2:30 am..lol... on Friday nights and Saturday nights I work at 24 hour Fitness from 11pm to 7 am, so I get to go use the cardio and stuff while I'm working, i only have maybe 15 people my whole shift... but four days a week I work at a pool hall until midnite, so its nice to be able to go and work out whenever the heck I want to :) Plus my memberships free, so may as well take advantage, right? lol...
A couple trainers have actually told me that to much cardio is bad because it starts to break down the muscle, and burns that after a long time of cardio, but I couldn't quit last night :) The shows kept me going...
 
2 am, just got home from the gym... tonight was a swim night, a little more relaxed, but still a great cardio workout. Thanks Barbie- I actually looovvvve veggies, but have seriously completely forgotten about them.. weird... anyways, off till tomorrow :)

Hey Jess, I eat less of everything else when I make sure to get my fruits/veggies in. Good luck in remembering to add them back in regularly! Your body will thank you for it. :D

BTW, how much cardio do you have to do before it starts breaking down muscle, etc... do you know?

Alright- well, haven't been on in a few days, went out of town for Christmas, ate massive amounts of food- but good news, I only gained one pound back, lol. I'm back though, and will be back with my eating well habits and working out, plus, Christmas hours are over, so there won't be any going to the mall early blah blah blah... yay!!! :)
 
Was reallllly sick yesterday, only ate one bowl of soup and a bagel with veggie cream cheese, and this is really bad- only 16 oz of water :( Todays better- feel great, and have already had triple the water lol... worked at the mall today, working at the pool hall tonight, and then I hafta work at the mall and the gym tomorrow, so I won't be working out tonight :( bad, I know... Next week will be better!!
 
This has been SUCH a crappy week! I'm working 84 hours between all three jobs this week, so everytime I turn around I'm eating McDonalds or Taco Johns... *sigh*...... Next week should be lots better- we'll have new people trained at one place, so it'll basically be back to normal :)
I won't get into the calories OR my lack of working out, cuz that will make me want more chicken nuggets lol....
 
So I had one of the Panini Lean Cuisines tonight, yummy!!! It was really filling to. A little depressed tonight, haven't really figured out why, but definately have that what the heck is wrong with me feeling going on... ya know?? I hope tomorrows better, I hate feeling this way, good thing it doesn't happen very often. I have a friend I'm trying to get on this site- she doesn't have a computer right now, but it would be nice to have someone to talk to on here
 
What a blessing it is that you can workout at work!
I'll have to try the pannini lean cuisine. Sometimes I will go over to the lean cuisines and I just can't tell if I'm going to like them. I really hate buying food that I don't like. I'll have to give that a try!
