Hello there, weight loss forum.
I've actually been a member here since late 2007, early 2008. After joining, I lost around 70 pounds. I was satisfied for a while, and then the Summer of 2009 rolled around. I swore that I'd lose a few more pounds, and shape up, but I put so much pressure on myself, that I made it nearly impossible to lose any more weight at all.
I felt like such a loser after giving up on that goal, but I soon got over it. Well, I now feel that I will remain somewhat unhappy until I actually achieve that goal, and can comfortably wear a bikini to the beach.
My goal is simple. It is to lose maybe 10-15 more pounds and gain some nice lean muscle in the process. I'm not expecting to look like any supermodel or anything. I just want a firmer, and more toned bikini body.
You see, after losing all of my weight, I was left with quite a bit of flab. I never once incorporated anything but cardio into my old routine, so while burned fat, I didn't gain the muscle that I needed. Now, I'm left with a small, but flabby frame. I think it's time for a change.
Also, my boyfriend's brother and sister-in-law will be coming down in June 2010. My boyfriend and I have been together for 2 years, and his brother and his brother's wife are my favorite members of his family. They always have been. However, they're both very fit, especially his brother's wife. She's a size 2, and if you hadn't already guessed it, she looks rockin' in a bikini. I love her, but in the Summers, I always feel bad about myself when it comes time to put on our swimwear. I mean, I'm a size 10, and she's a 2. A firm size 2, at that. I want nothing more than to look wonderful when they come and visit next year. I get so excited every time I even think about being able to walk out the door with them, feeling confident and sexy. Well, I think you guys catch my drift. My goal is to look amazing by June of next year.
Anyway, here's my stats.
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 140 lbs
Measurements:
Hips: 39"
Natural Waist: 29.5"
Drop waist: 36"
(For those who don't know, the natural waist is slightly above the belly button, while the drop waist is right at the belly button.)
My diet is going to consist of around 1,500 calories a day, and I'm increasing my protein intake.
As for exercise, I'm planning on doing 30 minutes of cardio daily, along with a Jillian Michaels dvd of my choice. I wasn't much a believer in using tapes until I tried these. They kick my ass, and I know I'm getting a great full-body workout after using one. Plus, I've seen friends get some great results with Jillian's system. I'm planning on seeing results, but if I don't, I won't waste any time... I'll get a trainer. I just want to see if these things can deliver first.
