Mal: that's a good link! But it pretty much defines what I'm talking about when I say I realistically can't go through 2 doors at once...right now door number one is the goal of seriously improving my lifting, increasing strength, moving beyond the "basics" to some neat (to me) stuff, yada, yada...my running is limited to 1-2 days a week. Now, from the link on the type of training required to seriously improve running speed:
In this program, you’ll run 3 or 4 days a week, usually resting a day after each run. You’ll vary the distance and intensity of the workouts, with each designed to build on the preceding one. Follow the guidelines below for performing each workout at the ideal intensity
edited to add: I was thinking about this, and a year ago I would have been like "bring it on" and jumped with both feet into trying to figure out a way to do it all....now I'm just about trying to find a balance that's not going to ultimately lead me to physical/mental exercise burnout...maybe I'm overly cautious but that's a strong fear/concern of mine

There's no reason that a year from now I can't decide to go in another direction, but for now I want to see where this is gonna take me....
...mostly I'm happy to finally be rid of it...and I now know how to not make quite so much at one time
