Frist off I wanna Introduce myself. My name is Candace, I am 23 and I live in Denver Colorado. In 2007 I lost about 20 lbs. I was at 190 and dropped down to 170. That is the lowest I have been in a very long time. On January 14,2014 I weighed 229lbs, My roommate and I deceided that we needed a change in our lifestyles for the better. (shes around 300lbs) on January 14th we started Phase I of the south beach diet. Basically just cut out all carbs for the first 2 weeks. We did very well, only thing we cheated on was drink wine. We love our wine. Haha. We also started to work out at the local fitness center within our complex. I got tired of the fitness center because it was super small so I decieded to get a subscription to Planet Fitness. (Which was a fantastic idea because they have more equipment for us to use and of course free tanning haha) So far my current weight is 211lbs. I think that I am doing a great job especially at eating right and keeping off the weight. MY big thing now is going to be to work out more. I know I need more exercise to really keep this going. The other day I was looking on pintrest and I saw that this lady lost 20 lbs for doing just cardio for a month and ive been thinking about doing that. One hour of cardio, 15 minutes jogging 15 minutes elpitical and 30 minutes on the bike.. What do yall think?:D

I didnt get to work out yesterday due to the fact that I had a mound of clothes that needed to be hung up since last week. (I tend to be a procrastanator) I am hoping that today after work I will be able to work out. Even if its just a run on the Tredmil or 30 minutes on the eliptical. My roommate hasnt had any motivation to workout which I guess has brought me down. I've maintained keeping off the weight so far and I have continued to eat healthy. Which I am very proud of. Weighed myself this morning and it showed 211.2 Im so close to 200 I can taste it.

Welcome Candace! I'm glad to see you've been having success with your weight loss. You should see your roll as one of leading by example for your roommate. You know exercise will help her along and the best way to get her motivated is by leading the way. Trying to help someone else through example is a good motivator to getthe ball rolling. Just don't over do it at first. It's more important at first to do it regularly than what you actually get done. I started by counting stretching and slow walks asexercise just so I could say I did something every day. Now I run every day. It took me less than 2 months to go from sedentary to daily runner. I found motivation in part by trying to lead by example for my wife. It's made a difference for both of us.

Stick around there are lots of supportive and positive people here.

I hope 200 comes quickly for you!

Thanks!! I really appreciate that! Im hoping 200 doesn't come to quickly cause I want it to stay off. I have goten alot better at running. I am a smoker but, I have drastically decreased the amount that I smoke. Before I wasnt even able to jog for over a min , now I can jog for over 3 minutes. Sure right now its not a whole mile run but I am working harder and harder to get that mile run.
I definitely do see my role as a leading example to my roommate. I know that as time goes on we will have this on lock down, but right now I understand that she needs me more than I need me right now because of the fact that shes got more work to do than I. Im really excited for this Spring and Summer tho. We live by a huge running and hiking track, its about 4 miles long and I think that once we can start going outside again, we wont be having issues about working out. (We're pretty big on nature adventures lol)
Ill post more and more about what weve done and what kind of struggles ive had. I appreciate the support and I Hope to meet and support others as well. Kinda return the favor :D

Im feeling quite wonderful right now. Checked the scale this morning and Im down too 208.8 lbs. I started at 229. So Ive lost a little bit over 20lbs in 2 months. Im feeling unstoppable right now and Im super excited to start working out more and more. Thats definitely my goal now, Continue eating right and work out more. Im going to give the only cardio thing a try for the first month and than after that month I plan on incorperating more strength workouts. While on the all cardio workouts I do still plan on working out my core a little bit at a time so I can start toning that part of my body more.

That's impressive! I'm envious of you. I remember when I first lost weight it felt like the weight came off so fast, this time around it feels like it's taking AGES. It's amazing what getting active can do, and I know that my downfall is getting the exercise in.

Keep it up, you'll hit ONEderland very soon.
