Is it harder to loose weight when you are older?

Hi everyone,

I'm 60 and have been about the same weight for eight years, how much no matter I exercise and or what I eat. I'd like to hear from other older people - what kinds of diets have they found effective for the older metabolism.

Hi Grandma,

I've got a couple of years on you, but I don't think of myself as old. Neither should you.

I don't know if it's harder to lose weight when you are older. I never tried to lose any weight before the last couple of years.

I don't think there is any difference between the kind of diet old people or young people should eat. I eat a balanced diet more or less following the food pyramid. I keep track of everything I eat on a spreadsheet and count the calories. You could do the same thing using an online diet journal or something like the Cron-o-meter software.

Good luck to you.
