I can't speak on the food plate, but on the food industry, I noticed something interesting awhile ago when I bought pasta. I was always told that a serving size was 50-75g (weighed from dry), and in fact I'm certain my old packs of pasta said 75g. This new pack says a serving size is 90! Sure, most people don't weigh their food, but could this be an attempt to get people to eat more?
Today on BBC News:
"This study looked at portion size and studies have shown that having larger portions of food leads to an increased intake."
.......lol
