Inspired, motivated, and READY!!! :)

New day, fresh start...

Okay, so I had a terrible snacking binge last night. I probably packed about 500 more calories on and I'm very upset about that. But today is a NEW day, a FRESH start... and it's time to get down to business.

I am about to go to the gym... and I'm ready to sweat my butt off!!!

I'm going to plan out all of my meals and snacks... and I'm also going to shoot for drinking 3 liters of water, not counting what I drink at the gym.

I'll update this later!

No worries girl!!! Just do what you said and start fresh today!!! Thats all you can do :)

and if it makes you feel better... i had a twizzler ATTACK the other night... seriously the package hit my hands and i went CRAZY... eating them like i was starving. It was bad... i actually started shoving them into my boyfriends hand two at a time for HIM to eat so i didnt eat them LOL

out of control. It happens though!

Good for you oberving your need to watch the snacking... thats my weakness as well. I love peanut butter toast as a snack... which is ok if my calories are low for the day.... but over 200 calorie snack isnt the best route... so ive scaled it down a bit!

Have a good day!!! Make good choices!!! :)

( lol i sound like a mom sending her kiddo off to school lol)

I did it! :hurray: I woke up at 5:40am and went to the gym!! All because of you!! I'm so excited and I loved it! Thanks Sarah!
No worries about the snacking - you have plenty of time before Friday to make up for it. Keep the water up today! I have a meeting at lunch so I can't go to my weigh-in so I will go Friday and hopefully we can celebrate together! If not no biggie because it's Halloween this weekend so we get to party!:seeya:

Melissa - you are too funny... my mom ALWAYS used to say "make good choices!" before I would go out with my friends or something. Thanks for writing in my journal, I like hearing from you!!! :)

CG - Good job getting up this morning!!! :D Doesn't it feel so good to get your work out in for the day and have it done?! I'm going to do my best today and tomorrow because we WILL be celebrating together :p

Alright, a little bit of a disappointment this morning... got to the gym, hopped on the treadmill, started running... shins hurting already. WHAT THE HELL. Why do I ALWAYS get shin splints? I hate it! I tried to run through it - however, I only made it to 15 minutes before I had to stop. My shins were so tense I could barley feel my feet hitting the treadmill because all I could feel were my shins!!! I was SO pissed. I wanted to complete my run so bad. Tomorrow on my training schedule is to "walk easy 30 min" but if my shins don't hurt I'm DEFINITELY finishing what I started! I wanted to just run so bad :(

So yeah, I did 15 minutes on the treadmill, then I did 20 minutes on the elliptical with resistance and incline, and lastly I did 10 minutes on the bike. I still got a good work out, but I LOVE the feeling after running. I feel WAY more worked out after I get off the treadmill!!!

Today I added 5 more crunches to each set that I do - so now I'm at 30 crunches per whatever kind of crunches I'm doing :) I have been happy to notice how much stronger my abs are and how much easier it is for me to do crunches.

For breakfast I had 1+1/2 cups Honey Nut Cheerios (220 cal) with 3/4 cup skim milk (70 cal) and a banana (110 cal). This puts me at 400 calories for the day. Here is what I plan to eat for the rest of the day:

Snack: Apple (80 cal)
Lunch: Half turkey cheese mustard sandwich (145 cal), yogurt (100 cal), almonds (90 cal)
Snack: EAS carb control protein shake (110 cal)
Dinner: 2 eggs scrambled (140 cal), toast w/butter (70 cal)
Dessert: Sugar free jello (60 cal)
______________________________________________
= ~ 1,200 calories

I'm also going to track how much water I'm drinking... so far today, I've had 20 ounces. I would like to get close to 100 ounces.

I will update later on how the day went! :)

LOL!!! I love sitting here in the morning, in my pj's, drinking my coffee reading about what you've done already today ;) It's so awesome :hurray:

Glad I can bring some entertainment into your morning! haha :)

It's not only entertaining, but motivating. I start off my day looking at what you've already done and think, "ok, Sarah's done *insert your workout here*, what are you going to do today Marie?!?!?" And it must be working, b/c I stepped on the scale this morning and was 143.6!!!! I almost fell over. So thankyou, for being awesome on your journey and allowing me to tag along with you :D

OMG.... :D awesome!!!! I'm soo happy for you!!! GREAT JOB!!!! We both met our Halloween goals! WOOHOOO!
It makes me so happy that I can be a motivation to you. I definitely needed to hear this... now I know I'm GONNA finish out STRONG today and tomorrow for Friday's weigh in... I was feeling a little bit down before but there's all this good news floating around here on the journals of everyone doing SO good and losing weight and the positive energy is just AWEOSME!!! :)

I'm doing really good today so far!
Breakfast - Honey nut cheerios w/skim milk, banana
Snack - Apple (PLAIN)
Lunch - Half turkey cheese mayo sandwich, pickle, almonds
Snack - Rice cake (PLAIN)

This is not exactly what I had written down this morning (there are only a few changes) but I am keeping the calories low and I'm not feeling the urge to keep eating - I'm very satisfied! Also, next to my snacks I wrote (PLAIN) because I have been eating these snacks with peanut butter lately and this has been a factor in the added calories! I enjoyed each of them very much without the peanut butter today :)

I'm still working on the water thing... I'm drinking a liter right now but I need to drink 2 more after this one!!! Who thought it could be so hard to drink water? LOL

BTW, I set up an appointment to take my first ever GUITAR LESSON next week Thursday... I can't wait! I'm loving these new things in my life... new hobbies... working out, now playing guitar, I wonder what I'll think of next? :p

Thank you everyone on here sharing your stories and keeping up with mine. We are all in this together and we are all doing so great... this forum has been a huge part of my new lifestyle and I couldn't be happier for it and for the people I have met on here..... THANK YOU!!!!! :waving:

Alright, here is a wrap up for the day! Since the last post... this is what I ate:

Snack - Sugar free pudding (60 cal) string cheese (80 cal)
Dinner - 2 eggs scrambled (140 cal), toast w/butter (70 cal), cup of skim milk (90 cal)
Dessert - Sugar free jello cup (10 cal)

My total calories for the day is 1,215 :) This is LOWER than what I am supposed to be consuming, but since I over did it on the snacks last night, this is what I wanted.

I'm STILL working on that first liter of water... LOL. I feel full though so it's hard for me to drink it!

Alright... that's all for today. I'm REALLY hoping I can wake up and run tomorrow. PLEASE SHINS, FEEL BETTER AND LET ME BE ABLE TO RUN!!! :(
Last chance workout before my weigh in.... ahh!!!

Goodnight!

Shin splints are the 'lay' term for "Anterior Compartment Syndrome". Ant Compartment Syndrome is basically, inflammation of the front of the lower leg... therefore ice is your new best friend!! If you have access to anti-inflammatories they would be very helpful in the beginning. Always ice after your run, along the whole front the the shin (b/c we don't know exactly which area is affected) and for 10min at a time. You can do a little self massage along the sides of the tibia (the bone you feel in the front of the shin). Don't do it for very long b/c you don't want to flare it up... and always ice right after!! A little exercise you can do is... put a towel on the floor, stand on it and scrunch it up with your toes. This works the accessory muscles to help build strength. It's a very hard area to stretch, but "Up Dog" yoga pose might help.

I agree with thelast20- your positivity is contagious. I love coming here and reading your journal, esp now when I am going through these few weeks of stagnancy with my weight (oh i just hope it is just a few weeks), it gives me hope that with hard work and commitment you can defeat the extra lbs. Congratulations on the loss so far!

Thanks so much!!! :) Good luck getting over the plateau... I am dreading the day this happens to me... but these things take time and the only thing you can do is keep up and push through it!

Great news this morning... I did my run that I could not complete yesterday.... YAYYY!!! :D Here's what I did:

3 minutes walking warm up
17 minutes running @ 5.5 mph
1 minute walking
12 minutes running @ 5.5 mph
5 minutes walking incline
2 minutes walking cool down
= 40 minutes

My shins were starting to hurt towards the end of my run but I pushed through it because today was my last workout before my weigh in tomorrow!!!

I'm sitting here icing my shins right now so after this I'm going to do my arms and abs exercises, make some breakfast and get ready for class! I think today for breakfast I'm going to have oatmeal, an egg, and a piece of toast... and a cup of milk?? ~~ 390 cals

Leave some love! I'll check journals soon.

Hey Sarah! your doing great! I love the reference to last chance workout! That is going to be me tonight at spinning! I got up and made it to the gym again this morning! Good work cutting the PB out so close to weigh-in! Every calorie counts! Two more sleeps till Halloween!:seeya:

Here is my food log so far today!

Breakfast - Egg (70 cal), toast w/butter (70 cal), oatmeal (160 cal)
Snack - Granola bar (90 cal)
Lunch - PB+J sandwich (230 cal), almonds (90 cal), pickle (5 cal), sugar free pudding (60 cal)

So right now I'm at 775 calories for the day - this gives me room for 725 more! I'm making salisbury steak tonight for dinner, and making corn on the side. We'll see how the snacking goes! I probably won't update this til tomorrow morning.... aka WEIGH IN DAY!!!! AHHH!!! So excited/nervous!

Wish me luck!

Way to eat Super healthy!! I am so excited for weigh in day tomorrow too for me!! :D!!...We all worked hard this week, and hopefully the scale reflects it!! **HIGH FIVE LADY!!!**!!

Hey guys... so I ended off yesterday at 1,245 calorires. That was good.

However, I have BAD news this morning..... today I weighed in at 143.8 which puts me 0.4 up from last Friday.

This is my first set back so far, and honestly, it bums me out.

BUT... I'm looking on the bright side: I stayed in the 143's for my Halloween goal and that's good enough for me.

I worked my ass off at the gym this week, but it wasn't enough. I ate like crap last weekend, I pigged out Tuesday night, I didn't drink enough water.

I'm going to take all of these things and make them into a positive:
I am NOT going to eat like crap this weekend (YES, I will be drinking, but not ordering a large pizza and cheese sticks to pig out on right before bed)
I am NOT going to snack after dinner and I'm NOT going to eat after 7PM
I am going to drink at LEAST 60 oz of water a day (this is not much at all, but it is more than what I have been consuming)

This week I'm going to KILL it. I want the scale to go back down. I do NOT want to go backwards. I REFUSE TO!!!

Thanks for your support everyone. You ladies that come here and keep up with me deserve to shine this week. You all did an AMAZING job and I have no doubt in my mind that your hard work will show when you step on the scale today.

Have a happy Halloween weekend!!!

NO NO NO NO!!!! You are NOT allowed to get down on yourself. You have been AWESOME, and there are so many reasons you could be up 0.4... one of those reasons is NOT that you haven't worked hard enough. Where are you in your cycle? Could definatley be water!! You had a slightly bigger loss last week, could be your body catching up!! You hit your goal early which is hard b/c your still at your goal, but now dissapointed with it. Please don't see this as a setback. Your body can only do so much. And you will see your hard work for the week pay off... maybe tomorrow. Your goal was actually Halloween... which is tomorrow not today. Drink lots of water today. Don't stress b/c it can cause you to hang on to your water. When you stress out, your body goes into survival mode and starts hanging on to all your resourses. I think drinking the water is going to have a very positive effect on you. Sorry, I'm rambling ;) Ok, to sum up: You Rock.... Your Awesome... You a total inspiration... and here's the big one... YOUR HUMAN!!!! Have a fabulous day :D

Wow... I really needed that! Thank you soo much! I know there are so many things... one being that I haven't been able to go number 2 since yesterday morning lol.

After my workout this morning, I weighed myself again and was at 143.6 so I went down 0.2! Haha. I'm already doing good SO far with water today... I've had 40oz... 3 more water bottles to 100 oz!

Here was my workout:
3 minutes walking warm up
18 minutes running @ 5.5 mph
1 minute walking
11 minutes running @ 5.5 mph
5 minutes walking incline
2 minutes walking cool down
= 40 minutes

Followed by side bends, arms, abs.

Okay well that's all for now! I'm sippin some coffee at work and looking out the window at the gloomy weather! Where is the sun?!?!
