India's Diary~I had so much fun gaining this weight, but it's gotta go!!

I tried to post a pic of me, but I have to post 15 posts before, so here we go.

This is the heaviest I have ever been.

I know I am not "fat" per se, but have gained 25 pounds since I met my boyfriend. We have traveled around Asia together, have had tons of fun at pigged out (he's 6'6'' so he can afford to eat whatever he wants!!) whenever, wherever and on whatever we wanted. I have had so much fun gaining this weight!!

...but it's gotta go!

I love working out and I have a very muscular build, so when I gain weight, it kinda makes me look stocky.

I am 5'8'' and weigh about 178-180 right now and a size 10-12. One and a half years ago I weighed about 155-157 lbs and was a size 6-8. I would like to go back down to that size by January or so.

It is hard for me to lose weight right now because I have gone back to grad school for law. Law school is time consuming and it's hard to care about what I am eating.

I was also raised vegetarian and I just moved to Ohio (devoid of veggie food like Seattle with its many asian cuisines). Vegetarian food here is subway, nachos or cheese pizza or something else horrible.

...and then there is the weekend binge drinking....gotta quit that.

So, I have resolved to:

1)eat healthier~i.e. less fat, less fast food, chips, ice cream and candy.
2)stop drinking beer altogether, drink red wine IN MODERATION or a low calorie drink mix (like crystal lite and vodka). But only once a week.
3)Maintain exercising regularly.
4)Try to start on a healthier sleep schedule (I go to sleep around 4 usually and wake up at 11).

Anyhow, any support, advice, feedback would be great! Thanks for reading!!

Hello :) I live in Ohio too. I moved here from Cali about 3yrs ago. Not alot of vegan restaurants but I work in Canton and I know there is one there...I don't know what part of Ohio you're in. Have you tried checking out to see if there are any vegan or good health food stores in your area? That may help you prepare meals day to day. If nothing else, as a last resort I know you can order stuff online. Good luck and welcome to the forum! ~Lisa

Hey!! I live in Akron. It's funny that you mention that. I really miss Vietnamese food the most, but it's also just the availability of good veggie food FAST.

BUT!! I did order some veggie stuff from Lumen.com. they have great veggie beef jerky for a snack (its a little fatty, but I love it).

I found out that at Aldi, the store here, veggies are really cheap...hopefully they are safe to eat, but they look fine so far!!

OH wow! I live in Alliance and work in Canton so you're not that far, lol. What a small world. And then both of us not bein natives either, thats so funny. I googled to try and find that restaurant and not sure which it was but I found this link to some vegan places in Canton if you ever have time.

And here's for Akron...some restaurant called the Vegetarranean and another called Mustard Seed Cafe.

And I'm so tired that I was thinking why the heck is a vegan link called "happy cow"....then I realized the cow's happy cuz he's not gettin ate! lmao

Anyway the Raisin Rack in Canton is the healthfood store I was talking about. They're around the corner from where I work so I stop there looking for stuff all the time.

Oh and here's one for asian food in the area. You're right though...not vietnamese food except in Cleveland. I've never had it though, is it similar to any of the other asian foods or all it's own?

It started out good....

Well, i started out good.

I ate yogurt for lunch.

I went to the gym and ran for 31 minutes, walked for ten, then biked four about 25 minutes.

Then I didn't have time to eat. I had a piece of pizza.

I had a healthy dinner.

I studied all day.

THEN my room mates had a birthday party and I had BEER!

BEER!

On my list of NO NO's it was there.

In the course of 4 or 5 hours I had about 5 or 6 beers.

ACK!!!!!!

Errrr....I hope the running balances it out?!

It was really sad for me today, because I noticed how I am no longer noticed.

At parties no one talks to me....

I guess I am not like, "Hot" anymore.

Blah...tomorrow....

BTW I was 179lbs today...24lbs to my goal.

Thanks so much for the info!!

Vietnamese food is great because it is really fresh and very low calorie, if you get the right stuff. I love PHO, which is a vietnamese soup. It is usually made with beef stock and meat, but many places have a veggie option. The veggie option has clear broth, veggies and tofu. You can add the sauce as you like (spicy and plum sauce). I love spicy food so it is perfect for me :)

Hey! Well, I guess beer isn't the worst enemy of them all.

I woke up this morning and weighed myself~176lbs!! Yay!

I think the alcohol wasn't making me as fat as all the fat I was eating (taco bell, pizza everyday, full fat ranch dressing, blue cheese dressing, popcorn with LOADS of butter, full fat potato chips). I have also been reducing down my salt intake, because I love salt and I know it makes me all bloaty.

Anyhow, the 176lbs may be just a temporary thing until those beer calories kick in, so I am going to the gym now!!

:ack2:Oh my~! I saw THE WORST pic of me last night. Someone had taken it at the party the night before...I looked like I had a huge belly!! I can't beleive it!!
