Im not losing and weight, Is it muscle or still fats?

Im 5'5 And weight 140 and I wish to be 120. I lose 10 pounds last month (Which I still finding hard to beleive, knowing I didn't do any exercise)

Now im on diet, I drink chocolate milk(fat free) in the morning sometimes eat poptart. After im done bicycling for 5min and doing cruches and sit ups for 20 min. I eat small portion of rice and meat at lunch. And chocolate milk at night. Im doing all this but my weight still insist on 140. I don't know what im doing wrong.

I could see that im losing weight on my hips because my size 9 pants fit now, tho I couldn't close it. Im doing cruches but I feel like my stomach is flattening but the my belly is getting bigger. With all this im still 140.
I don't get it, sigh -_-;

Your not eating enough.

Your weight loss is going to depend on your diet, not how many crunches you do or miles you ride on an exercise bike. Search the forum for diet ideas. Determine how many calories you need to eat a day. Google search "calorie intake calculators" and plug in your age, height and weight. The number you come up with is a maintenance number, shave 300-500 calories off of that a day to lose 1 lb a week.

use the calorie calculator as a rough estimate, as they arent all too accurate.
Like aevans said, find your maintenance level, shave about 500 off of it and eat that amount of calories each day for a week.

Before you start this new calorie level weigh yourself first thing in the morning before you eat or do anything. After a week of your new daily calorie quota, weigh yourself (again first thing in the morning before anything). If you have lost 1lbs then the calorie calculator was dead on. If you have lost more than 1lbs then then your maintenance caloric intake is higher ... if you've lost less than 1lbs then your maintenance caloric intake is lower. Either way, you will then have a more accurate reading of how much you need to create the calorie deficit you wish.

If you havn't lost as much as you wished (2lbs is the most you should go for..unless you have exessive amounts of bodyfat), then drop your calories by 200 and weigh yourself again the next week. It takes trial and error at first but once you know your body's Metabolism, then you have control of the most important thing.

Just an extra piece of advice, as your metabolism will lower itself as you lower your calories .... you will need to cycle your diet. A good idea would be after a couple weeks or so .... lower your calories by another 200 .. and then about a week after that raise it up about 500calories. After a week of that, drop it 300 calories back down and ull be bak at your calorie intake you're at now (exept ull have less body fat :))..and you will have dodged some muscle catabolism/increased more fat loss and prevent your metabolism to just plummet. Overal making things wayy more effective and efficient. This is called zig zagging

Another way you could do it is just start with 300 calories below your maintenance, then after a week drop another 200 ... then after a week of that drop another 200..after a week of that repeat the process.
These methods confuse your metabolism to hell and get ya great results!
pss dont forget to eat clean and frequent / weightrain and do some form of cardio.

hope it wasn't too long and confusing. Msg me bak if you don't understand anything. :D

also, change what you eat - chocolate milk and pop tarts are just sugar, sugar & more sugar. you wont lose weight eating that stuff.
and you might want to start bicycling more than 5 minutes at a time - 15 to 30 minutes would be better. search this site and you'll get many ideas for healthy diets and losing weight that will work.

Hi! Sorry for the late reply and thank you all for the replies. I did the calorie intake plus I do bycicle for 24 minutes (I can't seem to make it 30 min). The problem is I still didn't lose any weight still 140. Sometimes I didn't know how many calories is in what I ate.

I know eating fish, fruits, and vegetables are good diet. I don't like eating any of those. I hate eating seafoods I mostly throw up. I don't like eating vegetable (i'm never a fan of them when i'm young and specially now that I'm older). I do eat fruits but not all the time, I love grapefruits tho.

Is there any diet food I can buy on a grocery that I can just microwave since I don't cook. Like lean cuisine? Thank You!

All things in moderation, sister - that means the good AND the bad. You'll get to like these things, or find what healthy foods you DO like, once you give yourself a chance to really try everything there is.

This is a pretty expensive and shortsighted way to approach a diet. You won't really *learn* how to stay healthy this way, and in the long run, you're not really helping yourself. There are a lot of healthy foods that are VERY easy to prepare:

1. Grilled chicken breast
2. Egg whites & Oatmeal
3. Natural peanut butter on whole wheat
4. Brown rice
5. Stir fried cabbage and beef
6. Chicken caesar salad
7. ... the list goes on!

Not being able to cook isn't a handicap. I know of very few people who say "I don't cook" as though it were a moral issue ('cept mebbe RedJade ;)) -- so I'm assuming you mean "I never learned how to cook."

Do yourself a favor and learn!

you should have a lot more veggies in your diet - for salads, all you need is a knife and a bowl. and some lemon and vinegar for dressing. it's not hard or difficult at all.

and you can even buy the baggie salads, in a pinch! i like more veggies than that, but it's doable........

most of your calories should come from vegetables & grains. then you get proteins and fat.

i eat salad at least once a day - with several kinds of lettuce, a cut up red pepper, some califlower, a grated carrot, and mushrooms. Sometimes red onions are in there, sometimes scallions. Soemtimes tomatoes. i like to vary it.

maybe you prefer cooked veggies rather than raw...or maybe vice versa. or maybe you just need a good salad dressing.

let me know and I'll help you out with good dressings - we make a nice orange juice dresings..i also buy a delicious raspberry vinigarette dressing which is no fat...

The biggest thing I see here is a person with poor eating habits, unwilling to change.
You're 140lbs because of your lifestyle. If you're not willing to change your lifestyle, then learn to be happy at 140lbs.
Otherwise, suck it up and eat veggies and the other good things that people are posting.

I learned to like eating tuna, other fish, and cottage cheese. you can learn to eat veggies.

If the amount of weight you can push, pull, or drag continues to increase, then most likely it is fat and not muslce you are burning.
