Hey, I'm Bri. I'm 23, married, and work retail.
Here's a little bit of my fitness history:
My husband and i joined a gym about a year ago. I walked on the treadmill for 25 min, then did 3 sets of 10 reps on 2 leg machines, 2 arm machines, and the sit up machine. I loved feeling strong and energized.
Then, it just got boring. Our schedules were conflicting. Sometimes we werent able to go together so I would just not go. When we went together it was still kinda boring since he does different things than I do, but when he wasn't there it was even more boring. Also, when I worked on my feet, sometimes literally running around the store for 8 hours a day, the last thing I want to do is get on a treadmill and walk some more.
Then in the spring, we started running outside together which was awesome especially because it was a way to make time in our week to be together. I was doing great and really improving a lot and pushing myself a lot. We started this mostly because we go to a music festival every August and I wanted to be fit for that. Lots of hills to walk up, 3+ concerts a day for 4 days, those mosh pits I wanted to be fit for! When we got home from that I was really sick and I stopped working out again.
Now, for our 5th wedding anniversary in November, we're going to Hawaii for a week. I want to be fit for that so I can be active and don't feel lazy the whole time. Currently, I'm running every other day. I do the bike at the gym once a week for about 15 min. just because I have lower back pain and the bike really helps.
The reasons I stopped working out were weak and I really want to always be doing something, not just for an event, but that's how it's been. So instead of the only motivation I have being my husband b*tching at me
or an event I want to get ready for, I thought I'd join a forum and talk about fitness with other people
I don't really know what my goals are. I'm not really liking that I'm 155. I'd love to be in the 140s. Although, from April to Aug when I was running twice a week, I never lost any weight. But more than that, I loved feeling strong so I might add some arm machines back into my routine. And I feel great after running.. so it's definetly about how fit I feel rather than a number on a scale. So I guess that's a pretty intangible goal..*shrug*
I appreciate any comments or suggestions or hellos!
