I just found this site and it seems like a great place for some extra help and motivation.
Male/22/181 pounds/5 foot 8.
My current BMI is 27.4
I usually go to the gym 3 times a week( M-W-F) and try to burn off anywhere between 300-800 calories on the treadmill.
I also do some strength training.
I use the site and use the daily plate feature to count my calories. I am trying to loose 2 pounds a week. The site says that to loose two pounds a week I need to eat around 1500 calories a day. I am not sure if this means I can eat more if I burn off say 300 a day though.
My problem is that I am not a very healthy eater. I love sugary cereals, beef jerky, Slim Jims, Snickers bars, honey roasted peanuts, pistachios, and Coca Cola. At one time I would have up to and above 128oz of Coke or other sodas a day, and little to no water. On the site it also counts my sodium intake and I often get above 4,500 mg of sodium a day, which is not healthy.
Can you please help me in choosing the right kind of foods. Despite eating only 1500-1800 (sometimes I go over 1500) or so calories a day for a few weeks, I have lost very little weight.
Also how much should I rest between each resistance exercise session? I heard that the minimum is 3 days.
Thank you and I look forward to this community.
