I'm new :)

I'm 17, and I've been a little overweight for quite a while--mostly the past four years. I hold my weight pretty well, and I was shocked when I found out I weighed almost the same as my mom and sister who are both a bit larger than I am (at least that's how I always saw it....might not be true) :/

One of my problems is that I spend too much time on the computer--email, facebook, reading about this and that etc..... my end goal is to lose 50 pounds but I know that will take some time.

I plan to:

Drink LOTS OF WATER
Eat smaller amounts of healthier food
Spend as much time exercising (even if it is just walking) as I do leisure time on the computer
Eat breakfast

Anyone have other ideas? Or creative ideas of things to make for lunch/dinner? I find myself out of ideas for dinner and then I snack on less healthy things. Or just want to introduce yourself? :)

I am currently 191 pounds and 5'3"--I'd like to get that down to 140.

Hey! Welcome!

I am just starting out as well... it's a long road, you just gotta stick at it. Joining the forum is a great move, I've already found it a great help.

You actually sound a lot like me... similar start and target weights and I'm 19... would you like to buddy up?
 
Welcome to the forum!! Sounds like a great plan! I like the idea of spending as much time exercise as computer time.. I think I'd drop dead from exhaustion if I did that..lol
 
Thanks everyone :) and yeah, I know the excercise time is ambitious, but even if it doesnt work out all the way, it will deter me from spending too much time on the computer :)
