Hi everyone! Just here to introduce myself. I'm 29, female, married, and live in the midwest. (One of them cold states. Brrrr.)

My highest weight was 195 about 3 years ago. I have been back on the weight loss wagon for about a month and a half now. It is going slooooowly. I'm alright with slow; I'm just trying to keep motivated while the scale plods along. I'm 5'6", currently around 170 lbs. and my goal is 140.

I changed to a mostly vegan diet about a year and a half ago (not to lose weight) and at first I ate REALLY healthy. The pounds melted away. I was down to 155 about a year ago. I then transitioned to a fairly unhealthy vegan diet (yes, it's possible), and gained back about twenty pounds. I am now trying to switch back to super healthy (mostly) vegan. I am also working out on a regular basis. Even though I have been much thinner, I have never been athletic or fit. I could never run the mile in gym class. I really hope to change that.

My short term fitness goals are to be able to run one mile, non stop and to be able to do one perfect, not on my knees pushup. Long term I would like to be able to run 5K, do a dive-bomber push-up and be able to do a pull-up. It's looking pretty LONG term right now. *laugh*

I love a waver!!! :D *OHD waves back* :)

Best of luck to ya! Welcome to the family!

Pretty cool goals...I'd like to run a 5K myself!

Hi!!!

I've been a vegetarian for about a year now, and like you, at the beginning I lost weight.

You said you were doing a more vegan diet... Do you mean no dairy, no eggs, no butter... nothing??

Because I'm a chocoholic and cheese lover, I gained nearly 25lbs since I've been vegetarian.

Ironic, huh?

Anywho... good luck with everything.

I'm new here, too, so if you find any diet secrets or find anything that works for you, let me know!

I eat a completely vegan diet at home. No cheese, no butter, no MILK chocolate. I still find plenty of unhealthy things to eat. *laugh* When eating away from home, I try to stay vegan, but also eat some fish and a bit of hidden dairy when there aren't other options available.
