Hi all,

I stubled on this site yesterday while putting together a fitness program, I've always loved forums so hopefully you can all help me out with some motivation and advise!!

So, here's where we are now:

Age: 31 m
Height : 179
weight: 120 kgs
bmi: 37.4 Obese!!!
Diet: Homer Simpson
Smoke: 3 per day (down from a pack, quit date in 3 weeks)

My goal weight is 90kgs by Christmas, I don't want to be thin, I want to put on a heap of muscle in my upper body and have plenty of endurance through my core and legs. My core is already very strong, mostly from carrying me around all the time. I am fairly active so my fitness is pretty good for a man my size. I have already given up my coke and booze, and am only having one cup of coffee per day. I've started eating a big breakfast of muesli, fruit and yoghurt (I'm a classic non-breakfaster, just by eating breakfast I've lost 2kgs in the last three weeks)

My wife and I are going to start planning all our meals well in advance, and I am putting together a gym program that will initially focus on learning how to stretch, and start doing light weights to prepare myself for theheavy stuff later on, injury free. I will, of course be doing cardio daily and am hoping to also get a few swims in a week. I used to be an very competeyive swimmer and can still do a 2k swim so it's a great exercise for me!!

I'll get some pictures of my impressive gut up tonight, and will update my diet/exercise regime as I learn more!!

Any help or advice is really welcome and appreciated, as I said I'm not just looking to loose weight, I also want to build some real muscle!!

Welcome Iluvbeer!

Hope your goals become reality!

And looking forward to your progress!

Take care!

Ok so today is Day 1 (Was still pretty good yesterday though :)), I got up at five to go to the gym, ate a light breakfast of muesli (just a little to get me going) and drank a litre of water.

The car wouldn't start. I called RACQ and was waiting for them while ironing my clothes, I dropped the iron and broke it so had to go to the neighbours and the list of tragedies go on but basically, I didn't even have time to make lunch.

So effectively I've started day 1 with no exercise, almost no breakfast and only the 2 minute noodles I have in my desk drawer for lunch.

Oh well, it's all uphill from here.

The benefit being is that I'm not going to make the "I'll just again start tomorrow mistake", I'm playing poker tonight and will not be indulging in my beloved amber ales, just a solitary diet coke!! Oh and I'm also walking to and from the game, It's only a 15 minute walk but everything helps!!

Hopefully I'll be better organised tomorrow!
