I think I hit a burn out

Im not sure, i was going strong 6 days a week at the gym then i started doing 6 days a week at the gym mainly doing cardio for about 25 minutes always sweating and then I would get home and do 30 day shred. And probably friday i was just tired i went to the gym didnt do 30 day shred, next day didnt do anything, then sunday i did gym and 30 day shred, today i went to the gym but only for 20 minutes on the elliptical cause prolly 10 minutes in i just felt so weak, i came home attempted to do 30 day shred i could barely get my body to do the jumping jacks it felt like i was lifting dead weights with my arms when iwent to do the exercise i got thru the first circut and after doing the ab section i just laid on the mat and my 3 year old looked at me and asked if i was tired i nodded my head yes and he said "well turn it off" and i listened to him. I dont know whats going on, i am getting my calories in varying between 1400-1600 a day. Im currently at 216 lbs, im 5'4 26 years old idk what other information to give you guys to give you an idea of whats going on, ive been doing the 6 days at the gym for a month straight so. IDK if i need to up the calories or what. Or if i just need to do just gym and step back from 30 day shred for a week and not push so hard i just feel tired, maybe its just these past few days who knows. Help ?

Take it slowly and don't rush. Getting a slim and fit body requires patience and a lot of time. Don't forget to eat stop eat nutritious foods to give you the needed energy for workouts.

Sounds like your body is tired.

I had a similar experience recently and consulted with a military forum I belong to.

The gist of the advice I got back was:

- everybody is different and therefore can train to different stress levels
- but if you get over tired then take some rest days and eat well until you recover
- restart slowly (i.e. less effort, reduce frequency) until you feel stronger
- it doesn't matter what you like to train in
- but if you into body building (i.e heavy weights) do not train 6 days a week
- if you are into cardio/light resistance training then you can train 6 days a week (or more!) but listen to your body's response & rest when you need to

I took 8 days off (I waited until I has good energy levels for 3 days straight) and have been slowly restarting my programme for the past 10 or so days.

So, in your case I would consider taking time off the gym until you have 2 - 3 days feeling good energy levels and eat well through that period. Once you have good energy try and resist the urge to burn it all in the gym and restart the programme slowly until you are back on track energy wise.

Hope that helps!

You gotta take things slowly. U didnt get overweight fast . You have to work ur intensity up over time...Take it slow.

It sounds to me like maybe your body has just had a little too much to handle. Give it a week off to recover! Sometimes it can be too much, but given a rest your body will come back. Just don't use your 'recovery' as an excuse to eat 5000 calories a day for the next month and you should be fine :)

Hang in there!

I would say your body is just exhausted. If you haven't done anything before and then start with six days a week it's clearly too much! Try to workout for 3 days at the beginning. Your body has to get used to the stress (ans it is stress for your body!). Also if you do too much too fast you have a high risk of getting insured and then you will have to start all over again.
