i need fitness advice

Im 17 years old and i need some fitness advice. i have tendinitis in my knee and wrist so i can't run and lift weights anymore. the only exercising ive done lately is walking but that is getting to be too hard on my knee. im starting to feel like im getting out of shape. at this point im willing to do whatever it takes to get and keep my body in tight shape.
i can post my diet if necessary. i understand that diet is a huge part of staying lean and cut.

what kind of exercise routine can you recommend me?

my doctor said he does want me to get back into light weightlifting. i have a bench, a total gym, and a tower (that lets me do pull ups, dips, leg raises, sit ups, and push ups) in my house.

im not sure how healthy my diet is but im ready to improve it.
on a typical day ill eat:

breakfest- cereal

lunch- raman noodles or a turkey and cheese sandwich with a banana and yogurt

snack- protien bar

dinner- usually some kind of home cooked chicken with bread

snack- grapes

snack- oatmeal

i know my diet needs work. the only veggies i eat are the occasional onions and pepper toppings at dinner

what is the standard diet for staying in shape?

Yes, you are right! Your diet def needs HELP. There is nothing balanced about it and it's lacking enough protein for recovery. I'm afraid to ask what kind of cereal you're eating. lol My advice to you is to eat a protein, carb and fat at each and every meal. (even snacks)

For example: breakfast- 1 egg (protein & fat) 3 egg whites (protein), peice of wheat bread (carb), fruit (carb).

Snack: hand full of almonds (protein and fat) and apple (carb)

Dinner: chicken breast (protein and fat), veggie (carb), brown rice (carb)

See the difference?

So if your Dr. tells you to take it easy.. start doing light workouts, leaving a day in between for recovery. As far as your knee- Have you ever tried stretching your hamstrings and anterior tibialis?
