i gain muscle like a guy! help!

it's true. when i do my morning workouts, i do plenty of cardio, ab work, and some free weights. the problem is, i gain muscle so easily. people say it's good, but it's frustrating...especially when it comes to fitting into clothes. i have been using less than 5 pounds and upping my reps. i can't win. is it possible that eating too much protein could be part of the problem?
 
Could be partly Genetics, plus how much protein do you take in each day, maybe want to cut back just a bit. How many days a week are you in the gym?
