I don't know where to start

Thank you ladies. How could anyone fail to reach their goals on this forum with all the support you get? New haircut is a girl thing isn't it? Throw in, new makeup, handbag and shoes and you feel as good as if you had been on holiday. I could just afford the haircut and a lipstick, but roll on the end of the month and I'll get the rest. The big news this morning though is that..

... I have been on a 2 mile walk:party::party:
It was through an old oak forest near where we live. It was one of Henry 8th favourite hunting places when he was out and about around the country and deep, in the centre, there are descendants of the wild boar he hunted. Oaks from here were used to build some of the ships in Nelson's navy.
It has always been one of our favourite spots and a mile into it, and to the left there is a lookout right across two counties. Plenty of seats along the way but I didn't need them. I am so proud of myself. I doubt I would have done it if I hadn't had the inspiration on here.

Oh my god that sounds so beautiful, I want to go there and walk with you right now. Great job!! Keep it up!

You are more than welcome. I live in a very old city. Just around the corner from our old house, was a large stone cross. It is now the centre of a busy traffic island, but at the time of the plague it was outside the city walls. The city was plague free so every evening they put out food for the people who weren't so lucky. The money in return for the food was put in large pots of vinegar to sterilize it.
The city walls can still be seen in places, at one point there is a cannon ball stuck in an arrow slit.

I'm a beauty product junkie! There a a store called Ulta near where I work with all kinds of products...I can get in trouble in there :)

I agree with kaplooie where you live sounds lovely and now that you are going on these walks you get to spend time with your husband, enjoy the beautiful view and meet your fitness goals. Sounds like fun to me!

Polly, that walk sounds just lovely. WELL DONE YOU! :hurray:
I'm glad you feel welcome here. I think it is very important to feel like we all have a support team. It's a great community. :grouphug:

There is no way I would have attempted that walk Cate if I wasn't on here.
Walked to ASDA (part of the Walmart) group this morning to get some fresh cauliflower and broccoli for tonight’s tea. I have the frozen, but like to buy fresh fish fruit and veg at least once a week. Anyway I saw a jogging top, a couple of smaller sizes than I usually buy but it looked as if it might fit and was reduced from £16 to £2. Criminal to leave it there wasn’t it? I bought it, tried it on, and it fitted well, with room for a sweater on underneath. So I must be a bit thinner, or less fat, than I thought.
This afternoon I went to my ‘Knit & Natter Circle’. It’s a crafting group, we’re all ages and we can take our own crafting along or learn a new skill. I have learned tatting, but I’m awfully slow. Although I still take my share of cakes (I made Teisen Lap, a welsh fruit cake, and a Victoria sandwich cake as my contribution) I don’t eat any cake or biscuits at tea time. I take fruit. I treated myself to 2 pumpkin peaches delicious with a cup of tea, or coffee for that matter.
Anyway, I have some fish in the oven cooking in coriander and lime (limes were on special.) After tea which you call dinner I’m putting my feet up infront of the TV

I used to be part of a craft group called "stitch and bitch" but the whole group kind of fell apart after a few years and everybody having too many other things going on. It was fun though and I used to look forward to it because the ladies were so hilarious. Awesome on the new top! Gotta love a sale! And Jadelynn, I'm a Sephora junkie...I wish they would ban me from their site, lol!

Polly you are doing so well, but what I really love is clearly how much fun you are having with this!

Ahhhh kaplooie...if there was a Sephora near work I'd be in real trouble. Like that even better than Ulta..love the Kat VonDee product line!

But since we are all working so hard at this some new hair and beauty products are are just desserts (pun intended ;)

Thank you for reminding me of nonfood rewards :) I´m not a makeup kind of person and I really shouldn´t buy any more bags, shoes and jackets (my downfall) but I might get myself a video game for getting back on track and under 80kg :p

I give myself lots of non food rewards Maria: A more expensive face pack than I would normally buy, A long hot bubble bath with scented candles, and my personal favourite: a day off housework. I just ignore it. This one has two benefits, a lazy day and then a good work out the next day catching up with all the chores:biggrinjester:
When I took myself in hand last January, I thought about joining a forum and looked at several, but there was a fair bit of nastiness on most of them
I spent a good month looking around here before I joined, it is the best and most supportive so that's how I'm getting my motivation up and running.
Isn't it always the way? We are having a barbecue this evening and the heavens have opened. So, we are moving it indoors, having the actual barby outside on the covered drying area behind the garage. I shall stick mostly to chicken. I also do salmon wrapped in foil on the grill, but it gives me awful indigestion. I may have a venison burger (deer meat) but no bread or onions, and I will make a whiskey and coke last all night. Coke is my one luxury I tend to have one once a week. Well, Mother Nature wouldn't have given us the ability to cheat now and again if she didn't intend us to use it would she?

Forgot to say 1) have lost 2lbs this week, and 2) the 'D' is sticking on my lap top so please make allowances for any missing D

I love bbq's!! Nothing better than grilling meat in my opinion. Its been ages (like a month...) since I grilled anything, I should do that if our heavens ever decide to close shop for a few hours. I also love whiskey but straight up is how I do it. Coke ruines it for me and gives my mouth a fuzzy feeling. But I guess if you are going to cheat, coke is probably better then a pint of ice cream. Have fun and don't let your restrictions damper your plans!

I love bbq's too & love Venison, but really dislike Coke. My last hangover was on Whisky(Single Malts) so look at it very warily these days. Hope you enjoyed your barbie Polly, xo Cate

:hurray: 2 pounds down this week! That is most excellent! Hope you enjoyed your barbecue! I treated myself t a glass of wine with dinner....we do need to live a little bit :willy_nilly:

Congrats on the loss and thanks for the laughs! I decided long ago that I only really like bbq at my parents´ place because a) I know there are no hidden allergens, b) most of the meat is low-fat, c) we have plenty of vegetarian options and d) the side-dishes are heavy on veg and low in fat.

When I was in the USA back in the last century(!) the Americans led me astray and got me into the bad habit of Whiskey and coke and do you know I never thanked them. Such bad manners I had back then. My friends drink whiskey and soda and look at me askance when I pour coke zero into mine... the fact that I keep my whiskey in the fridge very nearly makes them pass out in shock. I also discovered Harvey Wallbangers when I was in Canada. Very nice they were too.
I think its the same with you; over here men who rarely cook at all in the regular kitchen, turn into the galloping gourmet when the barby comes out and we ladies can't get a look in.

Lol, how is it that man cannot cook their own steak under the broiler but put it over the top of hot coals and all the sudden they are Anthony Bourdain??

My dad has reached a point where he´ll only cook stuff for himself and my mom and let all the others prepare what they want. I very much like that because it means food doesn´t just keep coming till you beg for mercy!
