Well I thought I would give this diary thing a try. My name is Brandy. I am a 31 year old female. I am married and a mom to 4 kids. And I am fat...Truth be said.

I have been struggling with my weight since I had my 1st child and its pretty much gone downhill after that. I have been procrastinating about dieting because I was safe in my own little world of food comfort. My husband never seemed to complain about my weight. But I had a wake up call when we went to a funeral recently of a good friend of my husband. He was only 51 and had a heart attack and was a big man. I was thinking that could be me if I do not do something about it! So thats when I finally made the decision to lose weight and be healthy, not so much for me but for my kids.

My starting weight was at it all time highes on July 6th when I first weighed in at a whopping 282. I felt sick at those numbers and it really depressed me. But I am happy to say that as of yesterday I was at 266. I lost 2 pounds from the past 2 days:)

I have changed my eating habits dramatically. No more pasta and a healthy choice of carbs.

For breakfast I normally eat a bowl of oatmeal and one piece of light wheat toast. Lunches normally consist of lean chicken or tuna in a salad with fat free italian dressing and a piece of fruit. Dinner fish or chicken...lean of course a small serving of vegetables and a light piece of bread. Normally at night if I have a sweet tooth I wil grab another apple. I also take a daily multivitamin. And I drink lots of water a minium of 96 oz a day. No more sodas for me. I took a chance and ate out a few weeks ago and I ate a sald which really made me feel sick to my stomach because of the amount of grease they put in it. So I defintely have adjusted to a no grease style. I walk and chase 4 kids around and lol I have sex with my DH.

I hope to lose a 100 pounds. I would like to get to 150-165. ANd my goal is by next summer. I want to wear a bikini! And I want to shop in the regular clothing sizes. I hate shopping in the plus size department. I dread shopping.
Since I have lost 16 pounds I am noticing a slight change in my pants. They are starting to feel loser on me and I am very excited about that! So we shall see how that goes.

Hi there, congrats on taking that step to bettering yourself. I am in the same boat! I need to lose a TON of weight... the only advice I can give at this time, is to stay focused, and one way I am doing that is by everyday coming to this forum and reminding myself why I am doing it in the first place! Hope we both can one day look back on our diary's and say "wow, we did it"

You are off to a great start! Keep up the good work! Try to incorporate some walking into your daily routine and you will see the pounds and inches coming off even faster.

Hi brandy, Just wanted to leave you a note wishing you good luck! I'm 30, have 2 kids and want to lose about the same weight...I'm 5' 6" and want to go from 260 to 160 or 150...so we have some things in common...I look forward to checking in your diary and seeing how you do...Good luck! :)

Hi there Brandy, Your story sounds just like mine! I am in the same boat as you and am ready to take the next step. It sounds like you are off to a great start! I will be following your weight loss journey. Good Luck!

you go girl! you are going to do great!! Your plan sounds solid!

Hi Brandy! I'm a newbi also but wanted to post a welcome to the forum post to you. I'm 30, single and have a 7 year old son. Glad you are making the effort for yourself and your kids! Post often, I like to read diaries!

Well today was a big test for me! My husband had a doctors appointment and after he wanted Mcdonalds....I am proud of myself. I ordered a side salad and a piece of grilled chicken breast on the side with some low fat dressing and of course water to drink. I was not even tempted to touch my husband's fries which have always been a weakness for me! Now that I have adjusted my eating style and have started on this diet journey I can sense that I feel more full now after I eat smaller portions of food.
