I DID IT! 263-184 79lbs Lighter (YOU CAN TOO)

wow thats amazing !! i just started my diet two days ago and its so hard to get started. i plan on losing 20 pounds i just need to stay motivated! any suggestions ?

Thanks everyone for the positive comments. I feel really good and healthy and more phsyically fit than ever.

Jamaica girl... what are you striving for? diet or exercise or both?

I think the first 3 days- week are one of the hardest times in any diet or exercise plan. I would just remember that things will get easier and even if the lbs or inches don't come off right away, you will find your phsycially ability improving rather quickly... and just getting into a routine is the hardest part... once you figure out your plan and start doing it the rest will come naturally.

I have faith in ya.

As for the loose skin... It really is only noticeable on my butt and my gut... (lol)

The gut is really bad, but I'm just going to try to loose fat and increase muscle. Any suggestions

Luckily although I have a lot of stretch marks, they are the same color as my skin tone so they aren't really noticeable unless you are looking for them.

hey....im doing both diet & excersise. i started a week ago and have lost about 2-3 pounds. i can see a difference already but im gonna try and do cardio more...i run everyday maybe a mile and then i do workout videos and use arm weights but i think im gona make my workouts more intense because im very impatient an i wana lose the weight fast !!

Jesse,

Way to go! You are indeed an inspiration.

Your success story really hits home to me because of the similarities in our starting points and goals. I too started at 260 pounds, wear XXL shirts and 40inch pants. My goal is to not be overweight, which for my height is 180 pounds and I have set a one year time frame to make it happen...July 24, 2010. The similarities are striking. Only thing is I'm twice your age....but hey, I'm not going to let some young buck show me up!

I've done well these first three weeks....down to 247 (16% fo the way there already!), and your story will keep me going for sure.

I find it incredibly motivating to see that someone else has done what I need to do, as well as see pictures of what sort of changes I can bring to myself.

Congrats, and thanks.

Dave

Oh wow... you look fantastic!! It's like I'm looking at two completely different people. That's insane. This is an understatement, but.... great job! And, you have really pretty eyes, by the way :)

Thanks all so much Miri, Alta, and Cheiri! You're making me blush!

Jamicagirl I think it's a great idea to slowly increase your workouts intensity. I would just be careful not to overdo it too much, but if you maybe add another minute to a run every day or build up to another .5 miles every week or two it's a great way to improve endurance. For me it felt great that I was able to acheive challanges I set for myself, seeing the small successes motivated me not only to go further but was good motivation and assurance that the whole diet and exercise thing was working out. I just would strongly advise that you don't push yourself over your limit. Just know the difference in pushing yourself and overwhelming yourself. Let your body tell you when it's too much.

Dave I feel if I can do it any one can and I'm excited to hear about your progress along the way. Just keep going ... I went a few monthes Dec-Feb where I hardly lost anything then, but I just kept on and then the weight really started to come off. It's awesome .. I've never felt healthier and it feels great to buy clothes, and be in a crowd and not feel like the big guy. I encourage you to show me up... good luck lol... but seriously keep me posted on your weight loss... I know it's weird but now that i've done this hearing about others making similar changes really makes me happy... I think everyone should do it ha ha!

Thank you.

Our body types are very similar in your before shots (weight and shape) and I just started last week counting my calories and paying attention to "calorie density" as you say. I'm learning a lot and it is nice to see that it is possible.

Schweet work there guy. I especially like how you found your chin on the way. Wat? I'm not trying to be mean at all, I'm just saying my face looks and feels like about 1/2 of my spare 30 resides there so I tend to notice facial changes first and most.

You said you want to add 4 days of resistance training and I am curious why so much and what kind of split do you envision? Also, what sort of access do you have? Gym, some home equipment, nothing now? And do you have plans in terms of what exercises you will be doing and things like rep/set counts.

Great work!! I'm worried about loose skin and I can foresee some on my arms, thighs, butt, gut. But I'm going to worry about fat first. Thanks for sharing! :)

Thanks for all the kind words....

Thought i'd share a few more recent pics... I'm still holding my weight and I'm happy about that, but the onset of winter is making it increasingly difficult to keep up my gym regimine... I'm looking for any excuse not to go and finding quite a few... How are you guys staying motivated throughout the winter months.
