Hybrid's Weight Loss Thread (Current-In Between)

Well I'm back, some of you may recognize me from the past where my weight loss has been an up and down roller coaster, 2 years ago I lost 35lbs but then that winter I gained it all back plus more... :(
Well I'm back now and the journey begins again, my problems are I get pulled off the weight loss path easily and grab some McDonald's, Pizza, Taco Bell, etc. one day then bam before I know it I'm off the diet again, I'm also easily discouraged...I'm an I have to see "instant results" type person... : /

Right now my new diet consists of:
-Fish
-Skinless/Boneless Chicken
-Oatmeal
-Cottage Cheese
-Raisin Bran
-10-Grain Bread
-A lot of Water (I've cut out all other drinks...for now)
-Veggies
-Fruit (occasionally)

My goal is to get down to 200lbs-205lbs, once I get down to around 220lbs I'm planning on hitting the weights pretty hard, but for now my main focus is cardio and a good diet.
So if any of you have any pointers on how to lose weight fast and keep it off please don't hesitate to share your knowledge with me, I'm amazed by most of your pics on here! :O lol
Thanx... Hybrid...:seeya:

Hey! What is your reason for wanting to lose weight? You really need to find something that will keep you motivated throughout the whole of your weight loss journey. My motivation has been my gorgeous girlfriend I think I felt that she deserved better than me because of how big I was.

You could buy a nice t-shit or pair of jeans that are to small for you now then use them as your goal until you can comfortably fit into them. Over time you will feel them getting looser and looser this should keep you motivated.

my motivation is to not be the fat guy everywhere I go, or the fat guy out all of my friends who are all in good shape...lol
plus I just want to be healthier and go for a run or be able to play tennis for a long time without becoming winded right away...

Just start by making small changes to your diet.

1.) No Soda not even diet
2.) No Junk food. (cook yourself I love doing this because i can monitor what actually goes into my food) ( I seen some videos before of what happens to the animals which are used in fast food places and it really isn't nice. One guy urinates on a chicken not even kidding lol.
3.) No white bread.

I've made some changes like, 7-Grain Bread, No Soda (though I had a Monster yesterday :( ), fish, skinless/boneless chicken, veggies, bananas, oatmeal, and special K protein bars.

That's a good start drink as much water as you can that has helped me a lot. Make sure you don't over do it on the bananas and special k bars.

Recently i have been taking sticks of celery with me to college and snacking on them. I haven't dipped them in cottage cheese my self but i imagine it to be pretty tasty and very healthy.

I commend you on losing alot of weight before, that is good!

I think the key to losing weight and keeping it off are 2 things.

Not to expect quick results. It takes time. Also, it's better to do it slowly. I took me 2 years to lose 90 lbs and get to my goal weight.

Also, its okay to eat unhealthy things once in awhile. If you don't, you may go on a binge and eat too much. For example. Today I had pocky (chocolate covered biscuit sticks candy), and baklava. It's my cheat day also, but usually I have a couple bad items a day now that I'm maintaining to keep me sane. When I was losing weight I was alot more strict, but I still put aside 1 or 2 days where I would eat within reasons whatever I wanted. (Within reasons, not too exceed the calories).

It's important not to go too loose though. Whenever I have a bad day I tell myself I'll do better tomorrow. What motivated me was a dream I had. I had a dream one day I was really ripped (I had abs), and that's what motivated me. I also quit a game I played, and bought a bicycle. It was all downhill from there. The bicycle is my passion.

Another thing is you loose it slowly you'll less likely to have loose skin. That wasn't the case with me, but it helps.

Also I tried mediterraian couscous ...it's very good with almond milk and honey. Can't wait to try it!

It's nutty sweet almost.

wow thanx for all the advice, I want to lose 85lbs...that's my main goal anyway...lol

A lot of good advice in this thread for ya, Hybrid.

Like some previous posts have said - you cannot expect immediate results. It's just not going to happen unfortunately. That's the way it is with losing a lot of weight :[

As far as cravings go, have you tried chewing gum? It's been a staple of mine since I've started and I really don't know if I would've have been as successful had it not been for it.

It's not too expensive either. I buy the Extra Sugar Free stuff religiously. I've tried a lot of flavors, and I find Sweet Watermelon to be the best since I have a bit of a sweet tooth :) $10 will get you a small case that has 10 packs of 15 sticks. Plus, each stick only has 5 calories :)

I put no limit on how much I chew per day.
