How should I group my workout?

I was on a dietary and supplement board and someone directed me to the list of exercises here at ExRx Exercise & Muscle Directory

I was wondering what you folks suggest as the best way to group the parts I focus on each day. I am currently in season for baseball so preferably I would like to keep this lifting schedule to 3 days a week. Yet over the summer I would like to expand it to 4-5 days.

So if anyone has a suggestion which parts of the body I should group together for each day I can go from there and decide which lifts to actually do. Thanks for the help!

Full Body 3x a week. Simple as that;)

Do solid compound movements, don't ignore your legs and make sure to focus on proper shoulder movement and conditioning being that you play baseball.

I see on another post you're a 20 yr old pitcher on your college team.

I would think your college would have someone to help you -- your coach should be the one but...

I definitely would seek help on this. Don't jeopardize your pitching by injuring yourself or doing things that would ultimately hurt your pitching.

lester,

you would think the coaching staff would help us some how but to be honest they know more about baseball than the training aspect. we will get a new workout plan multiple times throughout the year, none of which produce results. while i know to pitch i cant get to be super bulked up, toning my body and improving my overall strength is a goal of mine.

i feel that anything the school has given me has not helped me attain my optimum level of fitness. that is why i have turned to forums such as these for assistance. thanks for the reply!

I've got just a short second, but here are a few links for you to look at

or google Westside for Skinny Bastards (don't let the name deceive you)

or

Those are just a few. Whatever you do, also google The Rotator Cuff Conundrum by Eric Cressey. In fact, look over at Cressey's site for all his RC stuff

The problem with forums is you can get the wrong information. ;)

Best to either find someone (try google or local craigslist for a trainer with a CSCS) who's knowledgeable or read up about it yourself. Many basic weight training books available to get the low-down on safely doing the lifts. Then one for your special needs is Bompa's "Periodization Training for Sports"
