how often should I take pics....

I want to take pictures every so often to mark my progress. I've seen some of the before and after pics all of you have posted and I am impressed. I am wondering how often you take pictures of your self. I know change isn't going to happen over night. Should I do it once every week? 2 weeks? 3? I've already taken my starting picture...of which I absolutely hate:(

Also...how often do all of you weigh in on the "SCALE"? I don't want to do it everyday. I've tried that and I just get discouraged. Is once a week a good idea?

Do it as often as you feel you should. Maybe every 10lbs lost. You should take a lot of before pictures, I've seen some people regret not taking a lot.

How many before pics do you think I should have? Maybe do one pic a day for the first 2 weeks?? i dunno...lol
 
I weigh myself everyday... but it really is a personal preference... I've heard some say not to do daily weigh in just because those little fluctuations can be torture.. then again.. I'm convinced that the daily weigh-ins is what works best for me.. that little fluctuation down may give me a much needed confidence boost for the day.. or that little move up may give me the motivation to be extra good that day to make up for it... I may not write it down everyday but I do step on the scale every morning and make a mental note.

As for the pictures.. I would not have been one to take ANY before pictures.. why would I want to take a picture of THAT? Fortunately I found some pics my husband took without my approval that really show how far I have come. I hadn't taken any progress pictures till now.. 6 months down the road.. I wouldn't do them as close as 2 weeks... maybe monthly would be good... but again... its just whatever works for you.
 
I have heard somewhere, and I don't recall where, that every 25 lbs you lose a layer - since you really only have 2 layers to lose - i think every 10 lbs would be great.

I'd also suggest wearing the same thing - preferably something that maybe doesn't fit you very well now and watch the progress as you fit into it..

Her blog & before/after photos is what got me off my butt!!

Personally, I take a set every month on the anniversary of my joining the forum but it's really up to you. There's no set rules. :D
 
I was doing mine every 20 pounds- but then my loss slowed down a whole lot so I've been taking them once a month for the past couple months. (you can see the total effect here if you want :)
 
The best ones are when people take them in the same outfit, same pose, you know? that shows the biggest changes. :)

Weighing yourself everyday can be very discouraging :eek: , most people fluculate at least 5lbs during the day. If you absolutly are addicted to your scale definately weigh yourself in the morning before breakfast!!
