The excercise for me is the toughest ... motivation/time/energy to get it down is what i need help with...I have a treadmill... dumbells.. tapes, but can't keep up w/coordination!!! lol.... any advice / help... examples of how u did it?

Since May I'm at almost 70 lbs lost.. but i have a huge number to start with...

It's been done thru counting calories and watching what I eat.. but not deprviing myself of anything... and thru moderate exercise- walking 4 -5 times a week and riding my stationary bike other times.. I do admit i need to exercise more.. just need to motivate myself to do so..

one of the biggest changes i made was eating breakfast every day.. that does make a difference...

I've lost 27 pounds since July 24th. I just stopped eating crappy food and started exercising.

Since around July some time i lost 22lb. Most of that time up to now i didnt really know what i was doing and ended up getting frustrated all the time and changing my plan. But now im settled with what im doing.
I did/am doing it by eating no more than 1300 calories a day with 3 days a week of weight training and i have recently began the "couch to 5k" program, rather than going on varied length bike rides on random days of the week. Exercise isnt that important to start with, but you have to get fit when you are only like 1-2 stone overweight of you will probably hit a plateau. But i lost 22lb with some exercise, not loads though. It wasnt as neccesary then, but now its getting more important. Hence the reason i am starting the couch to 5k plan.

So far I have lost about 8 pounds and I have been seriously watching what I eat and exercising for about 2 1/2-3 weeks. For exercise I do crunches while I watch the Simpsons every day when I get home. I just do as many as I can during the commericals. I also play about an hour of Dance Dance Revolution on my PS2 every day, and I spend an hour on the treadmill watching my favorite reality show. I found another good way to pass time on the treadmill is to sing :) Sounds silly but it really makes the time go by fast!

Good luck!

Hello I started about 6 weeks ago and have lost 11lbs by eating 1600-1800 calories a day and I started running plus some light strength weight training.

If you dropped the cals to 1200-1500 you could lose weight a lot faster. Depends what you are comfortable with though, just a tip.

Most pro's will tell you that too low is no good , and eventually you hit a plateau. I am averging between 1-2lbs a week which is what most doctors say it the healthy way to lose plus my legs look freakin awesome :) Many days I don't even make it to 1600 , yesterday I only got 1444. I know its working for me if I'm like " dang I need to eat more still today " and I'm not even hungry.

You shouldnt really exceed 1600 anyway, well it depends what your BMR is.
I think too low is below 1100 calories and thats for anyone, i go below that on some days like 2 days a week but i usually stick with 1200-1300.

^ It really sounds like NVME knows what s/he's doing and it's working. If it ain't broke...don't fix it.

Well I'll stick to what works for me and what is all over the web as a recommended calorie intake , just about anywhere you look it will tell you not to eat less then 1200 calories a day otherwise your body will go into starvation mode and you will stop losing and your body will store calories instead of burning. And if working out you need more then 1200 a day, as I do. My goal is too live healthy and change my lifestyle for life not just lose 5lbs for New Year's or anything like that.

It was just a suggestion. You CAN lose weight quicker than you are, and still be doing so safely. Like i said you dont have to or anything :)

Well, I go to Curves 5 times a week and I also walk. I try to exercise at least an hour during the week and during the weekends I normally rest. I eat around 1200 cals a day but sometimes I don't make it to that much. I figure when I do hit a plateu I'll start eatting a little more or something. I figure I'm lossing for now and I'm not hungry so I'll deal with it later unless you guys think I ought to change now.

I'm pretty sure at Curves they want you at 1200 for just the first two weeks right? I would stick with that for now as long as your body isn't asking for more. If I recall they move your intake up after that intial period. My guess would be your probably eating good whole foods high in fiber (which sits in our stomachs longer thus making us feel fuller longer) and protein rather then processed stuff. Now I look back at the stuff I used to eat for lunch and want to smack myself , now I eat less then that (calorie & fat wise ) all day.

I've lost 25+ lb.

I've just been eating healthy, watching the calorie intake but not depriving myself of anything either. Oh and portional control.. that was one of the things I noticed about myself when I first started.. I didn't know what a normal portion was, but I'm learning.. and the stomach is shrinking - I don't know HOW i ate so much food before!

Plenty of exercise! I started out barely able to walk a few blocks. I worked up to about a 3rd of a mile and then stopped when summer started. When I joined the forum a little over a month ago I started walking again.. I'm up to about 6 miles a week and just resently did 2 miles in one day.. a biggy for me! :D:D Plus I lift weights ever other day and I also just started doing yoga.

Find what's right for you!

I lost the majority of my weight with just cutting back on what I eat. I find it easier to stick to when I allow myself to anything I want but just not all the time. I wrote down everything I ate....you'd be surprised how much that can help. Maybe it seems like your not eating a lot already - but maybe it's that your eating too much of the wrong things and not enough of the right things. That really helped me stay in check! And I started out doing water aerobics and exercising on the treadmill/elyptical and doing some weights.
I have come to a standstill as I have done a lot of traveling in the past couple months but now I am getting back on track going to a Step class and walking on my treadmill and trying to start eating more veggies and fruit and lean meats (chicken/turkey/fish).
Try some things - if you can't stick with it then it probly isn't the right thing for you. It has to be a lifestyle change - I spent years with the lifestyle of eating all the crap I wanted and that is what got me to 250lbs!
Best of luck to you!
