How much should a Teenager work out every week?

I am 17 y.o too and i workout 6 times a week 3 days running, 3 days weight lifting and 4 days abs workout.
monday is my day off.
i believe i am doing a lot and i think the optimal is between 3-4 days of workout per week.
just remember to have at least one day break between the same workouts.
 
Not seeing alot done...

i work out everyday lifting and working my abs and such...i don't run because i have a bad left knee and some articles say that running can damage your ankles...so i chose to leave my legs for another time untill i see my arms getting bigger. I work on my biceps and triceps by doing curls and bench presses it feels like im really working them but for some reason my left arm is a tad bit smaller then my right :mad: lol yes i know it's funny but oOo well. And my brother like i siad in some articles is a body builder he says that if you work out only once a week you will get bigger arms and lift more then usual so i will see how that turns out.

But i will also try what you do except for the running lol

i don't know what your routine looks like, but if you are working out everyday, then it's possible that you are not letting your body recover and won't get optimal results out of each workout.
As for cardio, you should look into using an eliptical trainer because there is 0 impact ... and, you should be working your legs ... there are enough variations of leg exercises out there that you should be able to find some that won't do any damage or put any stress on your ankle
