Cohen's Lifestyle How much did you weigh and how much did you lose per week on Cohens?

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
Hi Mini,
The first month I lost 10kg, the next month nearly 5kg, the one after 6kg and the latest 5kg. I am due to weigh in on Thursday but I think it should nearly be 30kg in 5 months. That isn't as good as some of the information for Cohen's would tell you but it's at least twice as fast as the first time I did Weight Watchers. According to my scales at home I have gone from 109.8 kg to 79.6 kg, but they are a different kettle of fish to the scales at the clinic. I also go up and down a very little bit and while I check my weight every morning, I would warn against it as you can get very down if there is a bad pattern - the important thing is that it's a monthly cycle and you should only look at that as a pattern. If you stick to it, you can lose a lot of weight but if you "deviate" it can really slow you down and things take much longer.
Good luck.
Eloise.

Hi Eloise, thanks for that :) that's amazing progress and you really have done what I want to do haha, i want to lose 30 kgs as my first long term goal, I really hope to lose about 10 kgs a month but am not sure if thats realistic. I am still fairly active though and not unfit really, so i'm hoping that if I combine a good excersize routine that I may lose a little more then if I wasnt excersizing. Do you think that sounds ok? And did you excersize at all? Thanks again xo

I too lost 10kgs in the first month & then about 4kgs every month after that. People with less to lose of course usually don't lose as much as that first month. Over the 28 weeks it took me to lose 36kgs it was an average of a bit over 1kg per week. If you think that it may take 30 weeks to lose 30kg then you should not be disappointed. That would be a good result by anyone's standards. It won't happen over-night as much as we wish it would.

Hi Mini,
One of the advantages of this program is that I don't have to exercise and it works well. I really struggle to control my eating when I am doing a full on exercise program - walking is the only thing that has ever worked for me in support of weight loss. But that's my body. I guess with exercise you really need to talk to your consultant because they sometimes write the plan with exercise in mind - you might be have been given more food.
From what I can gather though, the program gives you all the vitamins/minerals etc to function but not all the energy which means you burn fat - they would also argue that the combinations of food encourage this fat burning. Sometimes I am not sure of the science but I am living proof it works and even though I lack energy sometimes, especially at the end of the day, I am more energetic and enthusiastic than I was when I was 30kg heavier.
I wouldn't be doing weights or anything like that because of the limited kilojoule intake but as I said, call the clinic, that's what they're paid for.
Also, in terms of speeding weight loss, I do think the less artificial food you eat the better, so no diet drinks etc. While I am advocating that, I wouldn't have been able to stick to the program without judicious use of artificial sweetener, so it's a balance you have to figure out for yourself - all within the rules of course.
Sorry I have probably given too much info.
Eloise
