OK I know I shouldn't focus only on the calorie burned but I'm curious.

I weight 210lb, 5f9

I do Interval jumping jack 4-5x a week

I do 2 set of 20 minutes

15sec of jumping jack then 40 sec of walking.

So how much I'm burning?

Maybe in 2 week I'll do 20sec of jumping jack and 40sec of walking. one thing at a time.

I've been doing this for a week and it feel great and it not hard on the knee! plus I'm waiting for my station nary bike. I'll put it in my bedroom!

A1 minute of jumping jacks at your weight is 13 calories, normally jumping jacks would only be considered a warm-up before doing somthing more calorie intensive.

ah okie thank :D

. well this is pretty intense for me lol I like doing interval cardio. Before I was doing step aerobic but got bored.

on the other hand when i take my heart rate after the 40min interval of jumping jack its 144b/minute

40min after i've completed the interval my heart rate is at 108/minute

my resting heart rate is 78/min but ill have to check again.

Ahow old are you, if you don't mind me asking, it will allow me to work out what your target heart rate should be at different exercise intensitiy ? also remember resting heart rate should be taken first thing in the morning after you wake up

AUsing the Karvonen Formula

220-22= 198 (Max Heart Rate)
198-78= 120 (Heart Rate Reserve)

120 X 0.6 = 72
72 + 78 = 150 beats per minute if workout target is 60% of max

120 X 0.8 = 96
96 + 78 = 174 beats per minite if workout target is 80% of max

using the simple method which doesn't take resting heart rate into consideration, not as accurate

220-22 - 198
198 X 0.6 = 118.6 beats per minute at 60% of max
198 X 0.8 = 158.4 at 80%

any higher that 80% then your working in the anaerobic zone

so I think you need to double check your resting HR or your not quite hitting the your target

Ok ill have to check first thing I wake up. but I didn't take the heart rate during my interval. it (144/min) was taken after 2-3 min I finished and was walking. Should I take it while doing the exercise? But it was intense for me since I am not in good shape.

Ayour recovery speed is a big indicator of fitness level, yes you should check right at the end of your interval, 2-3 minutes later is when your heart rate has dropped, the bigger the drop in that 2-3 minutes the fitter you are.

I checked this morning my heart rate is 78/min. I'm not sure if i'm working out tonight. If I do I'll retake my heart rate again right after I finish.

ok I did my workout but only 1 set of 20min today: my heart rate right after the workout was 162/minute and 3-5min after it went down to 125/minute.

Athat is a good rate for interval training, well done but as you get a little fitter your recovery heart rate will improve.
