How long for glycogen stores to empty through activity?

Can glycogen stores empty in one day through activity? I'm a wheelchair user and I'm working on losing weight but have read that glycogen stores need to be depleted for fat burning to be optimal. Can anyone tell me how long any physical activity needs to be sustained for in order for glycogen to empty? I guess it depends on what type of activity and how long for. I can push my chair around for up to a mile each day. Would this be enough to empty them? What about weight lifting? How long through lifting weights will glycogen be depleted?

Tomorrow I am going on a low carb diet, around 100g of carbs for a while.

Thanks.

I'm a cyclist and routinely do long rides. It takes 2 hours, on average, of moderate cycling to deplete glycogen stores. However, you don't have to deplete your glycogen to start burning fat. A rough guide for 60 minutes of moderate cardio: 1st 20 min 80% glycogen 20% fat, 2nd 20 minutes is 50/50 and the last 20 minutes is 80% fat & 20% glycogen. These are approximates but illustrates that the longer you can do cario the more fat you burn but even shorter durations burn some fat.

All that considered it still boils down to burning more calories than you take in.

Thanks! I am doing two 45 minute (approx, def more than 30) moderate cardio sessions a day in my chair. I hope this is enough. I have weights and perhaps I should start lifting them again.
