How Long Does It Take To see Results?

Once you start pounding the weights hardcore how long does it take to notice results?? (In Size?) Im a skinny lil guy so I dont have much fat on me anyways...

Depends on how your eatting and how well you worked out.

A sensible number to aim for is 2lbs of lean muscle gain per month. If your not making that, then you need to look very closely at what your doing. Cos somthing is wrong.

I look huge right after my workout, But It seems to evaporate within a couple of hours.

I started working out May 06...I started to workout with the Total Gym 1700. I weighed about 185pnds. At the end of the summer around September I weighed in at 160pnds. I also Rode my bike like crazy, maybe 14-20 miles four times a week. It took me about four mnths of heavy exercise to see any results. My problem was I didn't workout in the four years I was married, plus I'm 37 years old.

I totally had to change my diet and mentally get into it. So basically I would tell you to take your time factor in age, diet and have a realistic goal. I think gaining weight to fast could be just as bad as losing.

Right now since I lost...I want to put it all back on with lean muscle, I'm going to buy a BowFlex in the spring. Good luck with your goals.

Do you think its possible to go from 158-160lbs to 170lbs in 4 months, keeping fat gains at about 1-2 lbs?

VERY possible. That's only 3 pounds max a month. C'mon, it's three pounds. Less than a pound a week. Eat a lot of protein, a lot of complex carbs, and controlled quantities of fat and you should easily make 170 in FOUR months.

Your body can only use a certain amount of what you eat to use for muscle growth, the rest is either burned off or stored as fat. If you were to try to put on 10lbs of muscle, it would take a lot longer than 5lbs muscle and 5lbs fat.

The thing is, you have to make sure that your body is using the most out of your foods then, keeping your protein intake high and, depending on how much fat you are willing to put on, your carb and fat intake will vary on how much you eat - you have to decide on whether you want to be gaining muscle and body fat at the same time, or to have just enough to gain only muscle with minumum fat added - its really up to you and will take a toll on how long you are willing to wait.
