how long can I take a break from working out

hey guys I hurt my wrist and realy can work out to my full ability so I was thinking about taking a break for a week or so. Is that going to ruin my mass gaining efforts?
I still plan on consuming my same amount of calories.

thank you

From personal experience - one week is not that long and does not effect me much, but eating the same as if I was does.

a week should be no problem. in fact, you should take a week or two off once in a while. give your wrist plenty of time to heal. its been my experience that a minor injury can very easily become a serious one if it is not taken care of.

i agree, go with a few days off if you need them. maybe try to at least do something like walking or treadmill or something on the bike to keep from doing nothing at all even ab work.

breaks can become layoffs and layoffs can become "hey, what ever happend to the one with the wrist problem?" :(

I don't know how I hurt it I must have jacked it up durring one of my bicep days. I do a little extra emphasis on my bis because I love bicep excersises.

my body is still jacked up, i hurt my wrist over 2 years ago and my back about a year and a half ago, getting in shape for the army, now that i look back at it i wish i had taken a break or eased up on the training, but i kept pushing it, now my wrist is still in much pain when i do curl's, not so much the lifting of the weight but the letting go of the weight when im done doing the curl, and my back hurts when i lean back or am wearing any weight on my back like a back pack or anything, sometimes takeing a break is a very good thing, my uncle has been listing for about 40 years he has always told me "sometimes not taken a break can actually cause you to get weaker"
