How high should the bar bee

I have no clue where I should post this, so I decided to post it in here.

I went to Dicks Sporting Goods and pickup a doorway Chin up bar, well after reading the little piece of paper it came with that is totally useless I realized it does not tell you how high up the bar should be. Does anyone know how high up on the door frame I should put the bar? I'm 5'9 without shoes 5'10 with shoes.

put it high enough you so can comfortably get your chin over the bar without your legs touching the ground at any point. Since its a doorway bar, you probobly have to bend your legs.

Well my doorway is 9 feet high, so how does putting is 6 1/2 feet sound considering I'm only 5'9?
 
I'd put it over your head. if your arms can reach up to it and you can lift your legs and not touch the ground, then you're good.

Well the reason why I'm asking is because I dont want to drill holes all over my door frame, so I figured that maybe someone knew the height it should be set at judging by a persons height. Damn attitude :(
 
im just saying its not hard. No one knows the perfect heigt for you to put it at, aslong as you can get your chin over the bar ok and go down without for feet touching the ground (you will have to keep them bendt though) your good. No one can know how high that is without being there and seeing your doorframe. Im sure though if you gave us the measurements of your head, the doorframe, your arms, femur, tibia, torso + a pic we could figure out exactly where to put it, but its just too much troubble to go through.

No attitute, im just saying your making it too hard.

It just seemed like there was an attitude, sorry :(

Well here is the measurements

Door: 9Ft

Head: 9.5 inches

Arms: 20"

Femur: 20"

Tibia: 15"

Torso: 27"

Overall height is 5'9 without shoes, with shoes about 5'10

I would post a pictures but I'm at a baby shower right now..........................................dont ask I dont want to be here so I'm sitting in the den playing on the PC, and there is tape measure right next to me :)
 
I'd say put it as high as possible, such that you don't smack your head on the ceiling when you are doing chinups/pullups.

If it ends up being a little too low, it's not a problem. You should bend your knees and put your legs behind you, to prevent unknowing "cheating" anyway when doing chins.

Like Karky said, it's not that hard =/
