How hard can a few pounds be?

Hey everyone,

I have been so inspired see all the transformations on the forum, I want to start my own journal documenting mine here.

I am very much what you would term as skinny fat. I know my transformation might not be as dramatic as some of the others on this forum, but I still very much need to get fitter. To be honest I am quite fed up with myself, because I have been trying to lose that stomach bulge since I was 18 and have never been successful. I am not 24 years old and it's now or never! My goal is to have a flat stomach without the flab and toned legs and butt. (As you can see from the pictures my butt is very in need of some shaping up).

Can anyone recommend some butt workouts?

In the past I would try to eat better but cutting out fried foods, creamy, fatty things, but I would never go all the way. For example I loved sushi and would have it for lunch everyday. The only real exercise I did was running on the treadmill for 45 minutes. Will running definitely get rid of the fat around my stomach and tone up my legs and my butt which is my goal? Is 45 minutes overkill? I did it quite regularly but not systematically and thus never saw any real results.

I would very much appreciate someone to tell me what works and what doesn't. Up to this point I've only known how to use the treadmill and not much else. I have this fear of getting too muscular and that's absolutely NOT what i am aiming for.

My goal is to have a svelte and toned figure, athletic but still feminine looking but nothing too overboard.

Right now I am 5'2.5 inches tall and weight 110 lbs or 50KG approximately on an empty stomach. I've always placed my goal weight at 100 pounds but I don't know what that actually entails, weighing so little. I don't want to lose my boobs, for instance, what little there is anyway.

How long does everyone anticipate it will be until I achieve my goal weight of 100 pounds? Is this even an appropriate goal? I simply want to tone up my legs and lose that stomach bulge and get rid of some of the fat in my face.

Food wise I really need to figure out how to make tasty dishes that are low calorie friendly too. All I know is baked chicken breast with steamed vegetables and salads, and that stuff gets old.

It's nearly midnight here so I will start my journey officially tomorrow!!!

Thanks for reading!! :cheers2:

Darn it, how depressing. Two days have passed and I haven't found time to go to the gym.

I'd go for a run but I hate running in the cold weather. What I need is a proper stopwatch or just a working watch when I go running without a treadmill.

Food wise, today I had pasta with olive oil and two big dollops of sauce. But at night I pigged out on some fried rice with fried chicken wings.

I need to stop using food as a reward!

I ride my bike everywhere I go, is that enough exercise I wonder? Anyway tomorrow I will have a day off, so I will definitely visit the gym tomorrow!

Hey, how are you?

We have similar goals except for the fact that I'm 121 pounds :p and would like to get to 110. My frame isn't that small so I'm guessing that weighting 100 would be rather impossible.

I wanna get toned too which is pretty hard apparently, you should do cardio but also some weight training, you're not gonna bulk up or anything but that way you can keep the muscle you have while on a calorie deficit.
How many calories are you aiming for a day?

Anyway hope things get better! Take care.

Hi there's are a couple of websites called ideal body calculations and weight loss calculator and guide - you could use them with setting your goal, including timeframe - KJs etc, I think.

Hope you don't mind me saying so, but the fried food probably needs to go, lol. So easy for me to say - I fry my steak - with fat on it - in olive oil! But then I have a huge coleslaw with it with no dressing! I guess none of us are perfect, hehe.

I have quite a bit to lose myself - but yeah - those that are close to their goal do tend to lose more slowly - yay - 1 advantage!!!

Do you like going to aerobic classes at the gym? They would be bound to have classes with floor work for the "problem areas".

All the best :)
