How do you cut?..... New Rules FB 1
Afternoon all.
Ive chosen to do an impromptu cut after 6 weeks of trying to bulk. in all honesty i was using it as an excuse to eat over xmas and to eat crap so it stops now.
as ive been of New Rules Hypertrophy I i thought id try fat burning I. This was very much an experiment, especially as previous cutting down revolved around more cardio-less food but still using the same resistance program.
I didnt enjoy it. the supersets were awkward, it was difficult judging what weights to use and it took too long as i was working around everyone else. not a lot of fun. i came out feeling under-worked, over-stressed, and like id not made the best of the time in the gym.
the fat burning I program seems to use the weights as a cardio workout, whereas ive always thought you should lift less but heavier weights to retain the muscle you have. Fat burning I uses more reps less sets so this contradicts this.
Also, i have football training (soccer) on thursdays and matches on saturdays so to be doing cardio on my available gym days sounds like a lot.
As the first half of hypertrophy I was successful (and would be more so ive i ate cleaner - lesson learnt) im reluctant to move off the program but it doesnt really fit in. i got the impression itd be better for someone who was overweight rather than cut fat directly.
Any thoughts?!?
