How do you cure muscle boredom?

I just found out that muscles get "bored". What is that all about? How do I know if my muscles are bored or not?

So now how do I "entertain" them so to speak? Or at least what is the best way? Do I have to vary my excersizes? Do I switch my up routine?

Any help is appreciated....

You know if your muscles are "bored" if you aren't feeling much, if you aren't seeing gains and/or results. For example if you've been doing the same thing for months, and your body has made any changes, or you just aren't feeling like you're getting much out of your workouts, then they're probably "bored."

In my opinion, it's good to change your routine up, if not, you should be tweaking it with different exercises. Small things like varying between barbells and dumbells, switching grips on exercises, supinated and pronated on some, trying new exercises...all have pretty significant impacts on your workout.

in addition, forced reps, negative reps, super sets, compound sets, drop sets.

anything you can think of to stimulate the muscle in a new way is the trick to shocking them back into growth.

But most of the time, changing the exercises, rep ranges/ # of sets, and just increasing poundage per lift is enough to keep things flowing.

Garbage Guy,

Your muscles won't get bored; your mind will. The muscle will contract no matter what. The boredom comes when you lose your psychological edge. This "muscle boredom" can result from overtraining. You are tired and just don't want to give 100% to stimulate every muscle fiber.

Yes, it is good to stimulate your muscles in different ways. However, you could do the same routine each time as long as you apply the overload principle, and get proper rest between workouts. Varying your workouts really help your mental boredom more than your muscle boredom.
