How can I be skinny?

Hi there, I'm a new user. I actually posted this earlier in the wrong forum...

Anyway, I was wondering how I would go about losing weight and getting in shape, but not building muscle.

My body type and genes are pretty much hard-wired so that if I start working out (lifting weights) and eating right I'll most likely put on muscle mass.
I know it's a bit unusual, I mean, most guys would be happy to put on more muscle, but I don't want to be big, I want to be tiny.

Is there any way I can eat well, and say, like... Run or do some kind of cardio so that I'll get "cut" and trim without putting on muscle mass?

What types of things should I eat?

Oh, and by the way, I'm 5'7" and my weight is about 162. And I'm eighteen.

I'm honestly really not concerned with attracting a female, it's just, being skinny is what would make me happy.

Never heard of that from a male.. but if its what will make you happy. Proper diet and cardio will bring you to your goals.

Set a goal of how much you want to lose.. Worry more on BF % than your actual weight. Grab some info on proper dieting.. it is ALL over this site.. and start doing alot of cardio.. I would suggest HIIT- High Intensity Interval Training... so you won't lose the little muscle you already have.

If I do may ask.. why will this make you happy? Ohhh... I got it.. you don't dig females huh?

Naw I'm just busting your balls.. follow what I said.. anymore questions just post.

maybe he wants to look like a cyclist, they are tiny and thin but most are still cute! id say do toning exercises but im not sure if guys put on muscle when doing toning ex.?

Toning is losing the body fat you need to show off definition. Otherwise most commonly known as cutting. During this process you will stay stable.. or lose little muscle depending on how accurate you are with diet and workout routine.

running a lot will get the job done. just make sure you're getting enough carbs.
