Hey! Just joined the forum today after finding that I needed some motivation. My name is Tracy and I am 34 and have 2 beautiful children (3 yrs and 1 yr). I live in the good 'ol South where healthy choices are not always easy to find.

My weight loss goal is 35-40 pounds and I would like to try and accomplish that in 6 months. While the number is important, I really just want to feel more energetic and happy with the way that I look.

I am a lacto-ovo vegetarian (I eat eggs and cheese) and probably do not eat enough protein. I am going to eat more protein (maybe eat some fish if I can make myself) as well as consistently take vitamins. I love fruits and veggies and eat plenty of those. Wine and chocolate are my weaknesses and I will have to indulge once every couple of weeks so I don't feel too deprived ;)

A consistent exercise routine is tough for me with 2 young children and odd work hours. Sometimes I work until 2am and then am up at 6am with the kids. Finding energy and strength on 3 hours of sleep is not easy.

I started the calorie count today and have done pretty well so far. I did a lower body workout (no weights and free weights) and cardio this morning. Probably only about 200 calories burned because it took me 1.5 hours to do a 45 minute workout.

My husband and I are going to St Lucia in July and so I am determined to have at least 20 pounds off by then.

Hi Tracy,
Welcome to the WLF! And good for you for getting started!

I found that when I'm better at tracking calories, I'm better at losing weight - it's just funny how hand in hand they go! But I went into that realization kicking and screaming!

A trip to St. Lucia sounds wonderful and I'm sure you can reach your 20 pound goal by then!
