Home scales

it's rare you're going to get the same weight on different scales...

Keep track on the same scale... on a regular basis and you'll see the progress you're looking for...

though measurements are still a far better indicator...

I think a lot of the problem might be the time you weigh yourself and what activity you've done it after. Every time I do a weigh in its in the morning right after a run. If I weigh myself before an activity, or at the end of the day, my weight is much different. Because I chose to do my first weigh in right after my morning jog, that is exactly what I have to do from now on. Its a difference of about 3 or 4 lbs sometimes. But thats with me, and I'm sure everyone is different...

I'm only mentioning this because you say you weighed yourself at the gym, and that could be after fluid losses from an activity, or something weird. Your body does strange things sometimes.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but has anyone ever bought a curves scale? I see it advertised in the avon books all the time.

Weight Scales

I have a Taylor lithium weight scale and find that the number changes every time I step on it and that many weight scales I have tried do the same thing. I have found that the only reliable weight scales are the industrial ones, such as the ones used in the hospitals. I was wondering if anyone knows of or has a good reliable weight scale that is affordable. Thanks!

I also have a Taylor lithium scale and it rarely fluctuates like that; this morning I was in disbelief at the figure (lower than I expected) and stepped off and back on several times. I even moved it a foot to the right and did it again. Then I picked up a 10lb weight and it weighed me as exactly 10lbs heavier. Stepped off, put the weight down, stepped back on, and it read 233.2. I'm willing to believe it after all that.

The thing is, it may be "off" from my doctor's scale...but who cares? It's the scale I started this journey with and I don't care if it weighs me 5-10lbs over or under. What matters is the number on that scale is moving downwards on a consistent basis...and I'm also getting smaller because I'm wearing smaller clothing than before. Those are two big DING DING DING clues that I must be doing something right.

Hey, well that is great! My scale must be defected, damn Walmart. I will step on and it will be a few lbs heavier, i'll wait and get back on and then its a few lbs lighter and will "usually" stay consistent with that second number after a few times. If I move it to different areas of the house it will sometimes change number though. I guess i'' just stick to what I been doing, wear the same clothes and weight at the same time of day.

Thats great your clothes are fitting smaller!!!! You are definitely getting somewhere. I can't weight for that sign so I can know for sure. Thanks!

It'll come...just be persistent!

Hey...are you at A&M? I went to UT. :patriot:

Has anyone had any experience with Escali body fat% scales? I'd post a link to some of them but I have not reached the post minimum yet ^^; a quick google of "Escali" gives quick images
I'm trying to find a good brand that'll do weight and body fat that won't murder my wallet, I could go up to 60$ I guess
