Ok, y'all, I'm trying to work on my hips...among other areas. What are some good excercises I can do to tone me up there? It's relaly my hips and around to my butt. I have a butt tape I am going to do...will that help with my hips, too?

Butt and thigh exercises will help the hips, but to lose fat from that area... you need to lose overall body fat. To do that...

1) Eat 5-6 small meals throughout the day. Each meal should be 2-3 hours apart. Each meal should contain one protein and one carb. The first meal should be eaten within an hour after waking.

2) Drink a cup of water at each meal.

3) Rest properly. This means taking at least 48 hours between strength training the same muscles, and it also means getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep per night. Lastly, it means taking 1-2 days off from exercising per week.

4) Cardio. This should be done at different intensity levels and different session lengths. Consider doing a low intensity/long session, a high intensity/short session and a few medium intensity/medium length sessions.

5) Strength Training. Strength train each muscle 1-3 times per week. You should lift a proper weight and perform the proper amount of sets/reps for your strength training method. If you need more guidance or exercise ideas you can head over

All of the above things combined will result in fat loss.

Not to sound spam-mish..but check out my site and the videos, in particular "Free the Hips" video. I believ it has exactly what you are looking for!

Don't do the most frequent mistake to workout only problematic spots. This is so unhealthy.

The other thing is that you have to follow diet plan to loose weight and to workout, because exercises support diet. There is posted a diet plan above, try to follow for a month and study results.

Workout only some body parts is frustrating for your body, you have to follow balanced workout plan, which involves entire body muscles.

I run and do the elliptical about 3 times per week and then do a buns video and abs video 2x per week. Do you think I am doing enough? I am thinking of joining a gym soon to perhaps give me the opportunity to use other machines and weights. Any thoughts would be appreciated. :D

Probably not- sorry to butt in :)

A full body weight routine is better than isolating abs and butt. What about biceps/triceps/chest/back/calves..etc...

To 'tone' up any one part, you have to reduce body fat all around. You can spot build muscle, but not spot lose fat.

So stay on the diet, get a hold of a full-body workout routine (HGM, ABBH, AoW, etc) with free weights, as they recruit more muscles per lift, and keep at it.
