HIIT = Soccer?

I don't know, just from what I've seen/head about this style of exercise, it seems very similar to playing soccer. Your running up and down the field with the play, and then when you have the ball, or are going for it you sprint at top speed. So your always jogging sprinting, jogging, sprinting, etc.
 
I think that HIIT differs from soccer in the psychology. In HIIT for that 30 seconds or whatever you use you have to man up and put everything youve got into it because you know that the next two minutes will be at a much reduced pace. Soccer, on the other hand, is much more unpredictable. In my experience you always have to have something left in the reserve tank when playing soccer, hence you cannot kill yourself on every sprint. IMO
