Welcome to the forum, hopefully being here will inspire you to set yourself different targets but if not then good luck anyway :)

Hey thanks for the replies guys...I was wondering just how long it took some of you guys to actually get a nice toned stomach doesn't have to be a six pack.

To full personal satisfaction 1 year. Not including a 3 month "Dumb bulk period". When I started I had the man boobs alot of men complain about, and 30 pounds of excess body fat.

A year is a good starting point to achieve goals. Depending on what you're starting with, toned abs or even a six pack should be doable in a year for most folks. I have been at it for about 1 year - albeit haphazardly for the first 5 months and aggressively since then - and I am still 20+ lbs. away from toned abs. But, I am much stronger today at 48 than I ever was and in very good cardio condition, despite having an angioplasty last November.

BTW, listen to what Chillen says! He is a wealth of info and is quick to offer it!

Thanks for the replies guys...see I started working out in late June at my local LA Fitness.Prior to this I literally do not exercise except when I have school PE.Now that I'm a Junior and PE isn't mandatory...I don't do it anymore. I think i'm relatively skinny because i'm 5'8 and weigh in at 138 lbs but there is the fat on my stomach(don't no how much). My ultimate goal like stated before is to have flattened-toned/six pack abs stomach but not BULKY...just slim and toned. What do you recommend me to do in terms of cardio activities, weight training, and dieting? And can you be very detailed in your responses?I don't have necessary have a time frame.

It really depends on where you start out and how commited one is to DIET and training. For the average joe to get a ripped six pack with 100% commmitment 12 weeks is usually a good number but everyone is different.
Good Luck and Welcome
