Hi! I'm from Norfolk in the UK Ive been lurking on this forum for a few days especially in the before and after photo section! wow what inspiration!!! About me; well I'm female 23 (nearly 24) 5ft 9 and 223lbs  I have lost 25lbs so far and have gone from a UK size 22 to a UK 14/16/18 depending on where I shop, obviously I'm very pleased but I have a very distorted body image I see a much larger person looking at me in the mirror. I see myself the size of people Ive seen weighing 350-400lbs and often compare myself to people and my friends/family have to say NO she's about twice your size. How do I break this? Perhaps I should post some photos for honest opinions? I think people get annoyed with myself seeing me as something I'm not and I don't want to appear attention seeking in the slightest, its an honest worry of mine mainly because if I don't see the real me will I know when to stop loosing weight? My goal weight is 140lbs so thats 83lbs to go! I have a mini goal though as I'm off to the Maldives in April so I'd like to loose another stone, its 8 weeks away so 2lb a week and I'll be there.

I look forward to sharing the highs and lows of my journey with y'all and congratulating you all on your no doubt many successes!

Welcome to the forums distorted_image :)

Having mini-goals along the way to a long term target is a great tactic that a lot of people find helps. Congratulations on the weight loss so far - thats great. See that trip to the Maldives as a reward! I hope that you took some before photographs - a lot of people haven't because when we were big, we didn't like photographs of ourselves! Also think about starting a thread in the online diary section. Its a way of committing yourself to the forum, and therefore to your continued weight loss, and journey to fitness.

The big losers on here - weight loss super heroes aren't they?

P.s. I'm a Norfolk boy, born in Norwich, we now live in Thetford.

I'm 15 minutes up the A134 towards Kings Lynn from you then! Small world!! And yes definite heroes!! Its amazing how gorgeous people look with the weight off when they were plain Janes(James for males?!) before. Absolutely stunning, of course confidence makes everyone beautiful.

I work at the power station towards your way (the smelly place)! It is a small world, but this board livens up during the late evening because it has a lot of members on the other side of the Atlantic - the USA, Canada - but also down in New Zealand and Australia and other parts of the World.

I lost 48 pounds last year and reached my target weight, but I still hang around this place, its a nice friendly board with some really cool characters. I'm just trying to lose a little more body fat this month ready for the summer, but I can't lose much more - I'm under 10 stone now!

If you see a bald bloke running around the forest sometime say hello :)
